PA Capitol Police Get Tavors

Okay, so isn't it "kind of unfair" to law abiding civilians that only the domestic standing army of the modern day police force and outlaws can have them?

My point is, there is no legitimacy to arming police with the most technologically advanced arms and armaments unless they are patrolling in Chicago, Camden, or Tel Aviv. A semi auto AR is more than enough firepower with far less rounds going wide of target for a typical police officer. These guys aren't Seals, and having a bunch of jumped up security guards with better guns than they used to take out Bin Laden doesn't make any sense to me, especially given the costs. But hey, it's not like THEY have to worry about costs.

Actually law abiding citizens can have Tavors, just in semi-auto.

A Tavor costs as much as a good quality AR. So, I don't know where the cost idea came from. And would you bring a knife to a gun fight? Would you bring a pistol to a rifle fight? Uh.. NO!

Also because the tavor is a bullpup, it's easier to maneuver classroom to classroom or office to office when there is an active shooter present. It still shoots a 5.56x45mm round like ARs. Hell, it accepts AR mags.

Gunbroker has the auctions going $1800+ for them. Undecided

From what I can find it's the Tavor SAR which stands for semi-auto rifle.

It's just a patrol rifle.

I wonder if they got a deal being IWI is based in Harrisburg. The cost should be public information if anyone is feeling adventurous enough to seek it out.
