Pennsylvania: Possible Pigeon Shooting Ban Amendment to House Bill 1750
#1
exclamation
Discussions are underway in the Pennsylvania Senate to amend a ban on pigeon shooting into House Bill 1750 in the Senate Judiciary Committee. These attempts could happen as early as tomorrow, and your immediate action is needed to ensure this amendment is defeated.

This legislation would criminalize organized pigeon shoots in Pennsylvania by amending Title 18 ("Crimes and Offenses") of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes.

Pigeon shooting is a traditional shooting sport and has many participants throughout the Commonwealth and around the world. Shoots have been held in Pennsylvania for more than a hundred years. Their participants are law-abiding, ethical shooting enthusiasts, hunters, and sportsmen.

Of course, opposition to pigeon shooting does not come from within the Commonwealth, but from the outside. National animal “rights” extremist groups, led by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), have organized and funded efforts in Pennsylvania and around the country to ban this longstanding traditional shooting sport.

Using the contact information provided below, please call and e-mail members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and respectfully urge them to OPPOSE any attempt to ban this shooting sport in Pennsylvania. Please also call your state Senator and urge him or her to oppose these efforts.

No problem here... Using live animals for a slaughter sport is disgusting. Kill to eat or kill to defend, anything else is just wrong. Go buy some fucking targets.

I can't say I oppose the legislation. It isn't hunting. It's slaughter sport. It's illegal with any other animal generally, why not pigeons.

Today it's pigeon shooting tomorrow hunting rights...that's where this is going. Dodgy

You know, because pigeons are so on the endangered species list...right up there with rats.

There isn't a right to slaughter animals. This is as far from hunting as chicken fighting.

Ever been to a pigeon shoot? Me either, I couldn't tell you what the hell goes on.

What I do know know is the PETA's, Humane Society, Sierra Clubs, Mom's & Mayors agaist everything, the Brady Bunch, Ceasefire and the "you're wrong no matter what" crowd will never stop until your rights are erodded to the point of nothing.

What will they do with the PGC's pigeon farms they operate? I know of a rather huge one up route 87 about a half hour north of Montoursville.

Oh boo hoo, stop crying about slautering pigeons. The hegins shoot always used the shot birds to make pot pie to feed the hungry. Pigeons are nothing but rodents with wings

I'm not crying. I'm not up in arms in defense of it either.

I'll echo this. I've been to a pigeon shoot once. It was disgusting and unbecoming of a civilized society. Hunting for subsistence is one thing, slaughter for tradition is another.
