Pentago cutting maintenance

No, we'd still need massive military cuts.

However, I hear the war monger drums beating about NK more and more. With the illegal " war on terror" winding down, it's time for the military industrial complex to find a new trumped up threat to dupe the American people to continue our unsustainable military spending.

Cut whatever else you like in the military budget but DO NOT CUT maintenance funds and DO NOT CUT funds that go toward protective equipment. Those of you who never served may not like that standard but tough shit. You do one thing to endanger the troops and you have made many enemies, I AM on that list.

then be mad.

I'm tired of funding wars and I'm certainly tired of paying for the defense of foreign nations.

Do something to, or support, the endangerment of 1 troop. You'll make enemies the likes of which you've never seen. Piss enough of them off and you'll be wondering why your mother gave you life!

Let's not endanger them at al. We aren't supposed to have a standing army at all anyway. Send them all home, minus the minutemen. We have nukes, let the world know they are our only real recourse and use them if/when needed

That doesn't always work, nor does it help our allies much if we can't do something more to actively support them. Having a mobile force in readiness also allows us to protect any foreign interests, whatever they may be. There are also some idiots who will call our bluff on that.

1. Don't have foreign interests that exceed our own borders.

2. Don't bluff, use them.

3. our allies should be protecting themselves.

Except that isn't how the real world works. If we are exporting products to Viet Nam, that is a foreign interest that exceeds our borders. If we have citizens on an ocean liner that is owned by an American company, that is a foreign interest that exceeds our borders. Lastly we have RATIFIED TREATIES, that constitutionally require we live up to them that call of us to assist our allies in their protection. So which is it, do we live by the Constitution or do we not?

Be mad at the politicians who send them to war, who can't manage a budget and decide that things need to be cut to make ends meet.

Thanks for sounding like a raving lunatic and leaving the notion out there that I'd be better dead than alive because I support cuts in military expenditures!

Read it whatever way you like but I said no such thing. I told you plainly that you would be making enemies, myself included, if you support anything that adversely affects the troops themselves. Don't like it, don't sound like an idiot talking about something you have no first hand experience with.

Sigh...

You don't need to be in the military to figure out that if you're spending $5 and are only bringing in $3, something needs to be adjusted or priorities need to be addressed.

Since I help pay for the military, you better believe I'm going to bitch about it.

Just so you know andrew Billamj and I disagree on a few things but he's a great guy.
