The author in IMO, a typical progressive.  She's a religion professor who wants to bend the constitution to her personal, emotion opinion.

Her justification is "The 'free speech' in Bacile's film is not about expressing a personal opinion about Islam. It denigrates the religion by depicting the faith's founder in several ludicrous and historically inaccurate scenes to incite and inflame viewers."

So in her opinion, because the movie has "several ludicrous and historically inaccurate scenes" in it, it is no longer free speech and the movie maker should go to jail for inciting riots.  I guess we should appoint her the Free Speech Czar so she can decide for the rest of us, what is ludicrous and historically inaccurate and what the jail terms for being ludicrous might be.

This is what the progressive colleges turn out folks, people who want to interpret the constitution according to their delusional view rather than live by it.

I'll withhold judgement about this cunt flake "professor" when she makes the same statements about Jane Fonda's portrayal of Nancy Reagan in the film coming out soon.

In response to Nazi Germany.

By God, we cannot let history repeat those horrors under any circumstance.

To anyone.

Yeah, for liberals it's only "OK" when the nastiness is aimed at someone they don't like.

Yeah!  Remember all those Christians who rioted, pillaged, looted & burned, when the Da Vinci Code said Jesus & Mary Madgdalene rowed across the Mediterranean, shacked up, & had a daughter who gave birth to the Charlemagne kings!!!  Angry

Oh wait... - what? [Image: smiley-ashamed005.gif]

Exactly.  There was also the painting of Madonna covered in dung.  I don't recall Christians murdering any embassy personnel over it.

Then again, this whole thing is little to do with the movie and more to do with Obama bragging that he killed Osama.  There are reports that the crowd was chanting, "we are one billion Osamas, Obama".

Are you being serious about Jane Fonda playing Nancy Reagan in an up coming film?  If you are being serious, then I think I am going to be sick.

He then blames the film maker to the point where he wants him put in jail.

 2.  I find the end disturbing where it sounds like he is saying that since people in some other countries may not understand or respect our right to free speech, we should limit it.

I cannot get behind limiting our rights even those I disagree with.   I've always said that others have the right to their thoughts, prejudices, and so on. I have the right to express my disdain for those thoughts and prejudices.   Limit their rights and you are limiting mine, limit my rights and you are limiting theirs.

Yes I find his thoughts scary but he has a right to them just as I have the right to hold his views in contempt.

Yes, she does have a right to say these things, however, these thoughts are the product of unrealistic Utopian thinking. It's our job to educate people like this because, people like this running their mouth's unchecked can cause damage to the minds of countless students, who also live a sheltered existence like their counterparts in academia and haven't had the experience to question what they're told. I am a product of this type of system of liberal indoctrination right when it first started. When I went to high school (in PA) I was forced to watch PSA's talking about how all guns were bad and people who have them are bad and when we re-enacted the revolutionary war we weren't allowed to even make cardboard guns for HISTORY class! Then  I went to university and studied to be a scientist (a type of environmental science at that) so statistically I ought to be wearing a pair of Birkenstocks praising the tenants of "green" socialism (and yes every one of my professors had a liberal agenda they loved to preach).

Then after having gone through the liberal brainwashing I lived in the real world for a while. I learned what it was like to have $5 to my name working overtime every week and having nothing to show for it at the end of the month, barely surviving while the people coming to the pharmacy I was working to serve got EVERYTHING for free. I had damaged my spine from summer construction work while going through college and by the end of the day on my feet every day I could barely stand the pain, but I didn't qualify medicaid because I actually had a job and a piece of crap car to haul my ass to work every day. I couldn't afford health insurance, medications or to visit a doctor, but I had to sit there and listen to people in no pain bitch about how paying $1.00 for their 120 Oxycontins they were going to sell (normally $300+ at the time) was "outrageous" and how all of their medications "should be free". Watching people openly rape the system while my wife and I did what we were supposed to do while getting punished by the system every step of the way for having a job and trying to make my way the legitimate way. It was then that my conversion was complete from semi-moderate to full-on conservative. It was around that time too that every time someone mentioned "entitlement programs" "doing good" my one eye started to twitch Big Grin. Fuck em' all I say. I hope all these bastards that don't want to work and want to game the system without paying into it get their just deserts in a tyrannical police state they created in exchange for living off the government tit, I just hope I'm somewhere else when it happens. These days it brightens my every day whenever I get the chance to educate one of these clowns that either lives off the system or hasn't ever done a hard job in their life and show them the light. When I needed the help the most I got nothing, so there's nothing stopping anyone else either from doing the same apart from laziness. Obama didn't build shit in my life, he's only stolen from me.

Sadly, we're fucked though, the vast majority most of the people I went to my later schooling with (more than a decade ago) are still dyed in the wool liberals who think the crack addict who mugged them was really "just trying to turn his life around" and that only the police should have guns. They also think that only crazy survivalist types carry pocket knives. I imagine it's only got worse for the kids graduating these days...Sad
