PETA Wants Obama To Include Hunting Ban In His Anti-Gun Measures…
#1
Quote:Wondering if the administration is “against senseless violence and slaughter, or it isn’t,” People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals is making an 11th hour pitch to President Obama to include a hunting ban in his gun control measures to be unveiled Wednesday.

“Americans’ views are evolving on many issues, from same-sex marriage to gun control, and the time is right to reconsider the dangerous message that the practice of killing animals for fun is acceptable and should even be protected,” Tracy Reiman, PETA’s executive vice president said in a letter to Obama.

The animal rights group is angered that Vice President Biden has been calling hunting “responsible” gun ownership.

Fine, then PETA can hand deliver 100lbs of meat into my fridge every year. And when the PA deer population explodes, they can pay for the repairs to all of our cars when we hit one.

Personally, I think PETA is about as pretentious as it gets. I have teeth. Whether you believe in evolution, or creation, those teeth mean that meat is food. The fact that I have teeth, and opposable thumbs, just means that all meat slower than myself is food.

If PETA wants to whine and cry some more, that is fine. Let them whine. I have not been hunting since I was about 16. Just didn't like sitting in the cold all morning when I have friends who call me and say "Listen, I have soooo much venison here. Do you want a few dozen pounds?"

With this, I think I am going to start hunting again.
This will be the best security for maintaining our liberties. A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved. It is in the religion of ignorance that tyranny begins. -Ben Franklin

Honestly, I want the hunters to suffer on this one as much as we do so I hope it goes through or SOMETHING to make them wake the fuck up.

I'm so fricking sick of hearing people--especially hunters--say that "Nobody needs a semi-automatic rifle with big clips" and that the 2A is just for hunting.

The only way these fudds will wake up is if THEY are told they can't do something.

So yes, I'm all for "reasonable discussions" on firearms including the banning of hunting or making it exponentially harder/more expensive.

Angry much?Big Grin As I was growing-up in NJ I saw the same bullshit attitude from hunters. You're right. No one gives a shit until they come to take their stuff away...and then there was no one left to speak for me.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the socialists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a socialist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a catholic.

Then they came for me,
and there was no one left to speak for me.

That's the point. I want them to join us in defending the 2A, not allow the left to split gun owners in half.

I do not hunt, and although I would like to take up the hobby I may never. But I do like to target shoot, and if I want to target shoot ARs, AKs, or lever action .22 that is MY choice and my right.

IMHO hunters are the epitome of selfish when it comes to gun rights, so long as THEY can dust off their .30-06 once a year they feel like they're protected.

I'm a lifetime hunter, and I approve this message.

PETA is worried about the animals when far worse things happen to humans and children.

This country has deemed it acceptable to kill 3,000,000 unborn children a year by abortion. Violence in media and "entertainment" is considered acceptable. The brainwashing of the young and weak of mind goes on 24/7. Any wonder why things like mass murder happen?
