Phila Gun Permit Office: It's 45 BUSINESS DAYS
#1
45 calendar days for waiting? No... not according to my last check-up.

Now it's 45 "bidness days".

Doing the mental calculator, there's an average of 20 business days in a month (4 weeks x 5 days), so that translates to 2.something months depending on PA state employee holidays.

I did sneak a peak at what was in my file from the last time it was reviewed and inside was a checklist sheet that had notes from different parts of PPD in different handwriting all over it. Mostly all of the background checks that they do.

Apparently the file shuttles around to all sorts of different places before it lands back in the lap of the permit office who finally then push "print" on the card making machine and then also print out the postcard/letter to tell you to come in. Apparently all this work is to "stop bad guys and straw purchasers". Uh huh.

Hmm and some counties have next-day service. Feature that.

Next year we need to push to have the second sentence of 6109(b) removed.
The Second Amendment does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not infringe our right.

Quote:1 Pa.C.S.A. § 1991
The following words and phrases, when used in any statute finally enacted on or after September 1, 1937, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, shall have the meanings given to them in this section:

...

"Day." The time from midnight to the next midnight.

Does the context of 6109 indicate otherwise? Nope.

Anything that stops a PA resident in one county from traveling to a county with less dipshits in it to turn in the form?

The UFA, you're required to apply in the county in which you live.

The part that requires you to go to the issuing authority in your county of residence.

And that is exactly what a change in 6109(b) will improve.
It will allow people in Philly and other counties to go else where and receive the LTCF without unnecessary restrictions.

And why should the non resident have more privilege (to apply any where) than the states own citizens?

I don't think PAUFA says anything about "business days"; the waiting period is not to exceed 45 calendar days.

But now they're telling folks "business days" to make them go away and keep re-checking for their cards until they get the letter in the mail.
