Then don't Wink

On a serious note, I fully agree--the NRA has the chance to push back, or roll over. Now is NOT the time for compromise.

Yep, it's time to push back, not give in.

Unfortunately this gun control business couldn't come at a better time for the liberals. The NRA just spent a shit load of money on Anti-Obama, Anti-Holder, and Pro-Romney campaigns. I'm talking millions of dollars. They could have used that money to fight this bull shit witch hunt that is about to take place.

Plus it's been said on gun forums several times over the years that it would probably take someone shooting up a bunch of school kids to get enough support for a total ban.

On the federal level at least Friday's conference from the NRA will make or break the response to this event, in my opinion.

Well, forget that, ABC 6 in Philly is going to move ahead with a panel discussion on Thursday which is a date I cannot make due to work. They'll have someone else on at about 1 o'clock, not sure who yet.

I agree, this should be the political equivalent of armageddon. The pro-gun side has been giving (losing, really) since at least 1934, which got us where we are today. The left isn't offering *anything* back. Nothing. How about a stipend of deregulation somewhere else? "You can't be serious?" they chortle. It's a zero-loss proposition for them. This is the same blame-everyone-who-didn't-do-it tactic for political expediency.

If the House doesn't clog their toilet, we're hosed. All that's left is ex post facto & the 4th amendment for those that bought cheap & stacked deep.

And we may need this as a learning experience; the fudds, the my-ox-isn't-being-gored crowd, the fence sitters & the "takers".

A glimpse into the possible near-future:
