question
I just got back from rite aid the drug store. I was checking out and the girl caught a glimpse of my gun right as I was asking her if they are going to do something about security now that they are open 24 hours. Needless to say bad timing. She stayed very composed but kept looking at it so I said to her you need one of these and pulled my jacket open to show her. She seemed to relax and said she was interested in getting a pistol and asked me questions on if I was "allowed" to carry it. I explained about the permit and open carry and told her where to go in a couple of months when she turns 21 and also recommended a safety course. Why do I have the feeling the police are going to kick in my door? Did I do the right thing? did I do anything wrong? no one has ever picked up the fact that I carry before. I had my holster a little more to front than usual. PLEASE TELL ME I DIDNT FUCK UP!

You did nothing wrong.

Depending on the circumstances, though, opening your jacket may have been tacky, but that's a matter of opinion.

Yes I agree 100% I feel like an ass. I have never been caught so to speak. I panicked like a child.Blush Its just been a horrible couple of weeks for me. I keep waiting for the police to show up. Im going to crawl into a hole I feel like the biggest ass. I even called there to apologize if I startled her.

I would stop bringing it up to her before she calls the cops for stalking. Smile

Thanks Sober, but I think I need a real one or a jackass costume I should wear when I leave the house.

Your comments about security while she saw your firearm could have caused her to wonder if you were casing the joint. You openly showed her she had nothing to fear, gave her some valuable information, and casually left. You did nothing wrong. You simply "felt" awkward and that is causing you to second-guess yourself. Practice your presentation for the next time, and stop worrying. Smile
