Pocket Carry a Full Size 1911?!?
#1
You read it right. I would have never thought it was possible. Maybe even crazy right? I've been carrying for over 6 years now and I could probably fill a truck bed with all the carry gear I've accumulated over that time. I think this is a natural process everyone must go through though before they know what they like and what works for them and the clothing they wear. With this trial and error experience the holsters and carry gear I come back to over and over again are the ones that are easy and comfortable to use. For me, the most comfortable location for a gun has always been in the front pocket. It's easy to control and retain, easy to get to and doesn't really interfere with any position I get myself into. Pocket guns are all the craze and I have a few myself but I have to agree with a lot of people about the fact that you are limiting yourself to sub caliber pistols in order to achieve this. Until now.

Carrying a full size, all steel 1911 is not an easy task in my experience. Outside the waistband holsters limit you to either open carry or half concealed carry. They usually hang off and stand off too much and dig in to the seat when you sit down. Inside the waistband holsters require you to buy bigger jeans, they still weigh down your pants even with a good gun belt, they usually don't offer any kind of retention and can bind up your underwear over time making them kind of uncomfortable. Que the full size 1911 pocket holster. I get retention, concealment, comfort, freedom of movement and easy draw all in one in a position I'm already accustomed to drawing from. This is a design I've thought about for a while now and finally got my local leather shop to build this for me custom.

This just might be a one of a kind. Revolutionary even? I don't think anyone offers anything like it. Check this out...

The belt loop keeps the holster in the pocket, the retention strap keeps the gun in the holster and the flat backing is fitted to my pockets and keeps the gun oriented in the correct position.

This leather guy does some awesome work and I'm EXTREMELY happy with this holster if you couldn't tell! :D

And it doesn't dig into your leg when you sit down?

It sits below the waist. It lays flat against my leg and moves with my leg. Been carrying this all week now with this and it feels great. I jump in and out of the work truck all day long too and it's extremely comfortable.
