Police Commissioner Ramsey on CNN
#1
Did anyone catch him on television yesterday spouting the same old nonsense? It inspired me to fire off this letter this morning:

Quote:Dear Commissioner Ramsey,

I saw some of your comments on television yesterday when being interviewed by a female correspondent whom I believe was from the BBC.

There are several things that got my attention.

First, gun registration is unconstitutional (both U.S. and PA) and will do nothing to reduce violent crime. The government has no business in how many or what type of firearms the citizens may or may not own.

Second, you play the emotional angle in your argument for more gun restrictions by referring to the Newtown victims as "20 babies". Let me ask you this - How were 168 people including "20 babies" killed in Oklahoma City by Timothy McVeigh?

Third, when asked about the record murder rate under your watch in Washington D.C., with the nation's toughest firearm laws, you blamed surrounding jurisdictions for have weaker gun laws that allowed guns to be brought in. Well I would like to thank you for that statement. It confirms what pro-gun groups have been saying all along, "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns". The criminal element ignored all of your gun laws and obtained them anyway, most likely through illegal means.

You and other politicians attempt to cover your inability to address the real causes of violent crime by further restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens in not only the City of Philadelpha, but now you and your cronies want to spread it nationwide.

Frankly, you are an embarrassment to this City and it is a disgrace to call yourself a "law enforcement officer" as you do very little to enforce the existing laws and make sure the violent and evil among us are brought to justice.

I would like to close with this reminder from the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:

Article 1
DECLARATION OF RIGHTS

That the general, great and essential principles of liberty and free government may be recognized and unalterably established, WE DECLARE THAT -

All men are born equally free and independent, and have certain inherent and indefeasible rights, among which are those of enjoying and defending life and liberty, of acquiring, possessing and protecting property and reputation, and of pursuing their own happiness.

The right of the citizens to bear arms in defense of themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

One main thing I forgot to ask him was how many shootouts has the PPD been involved in with persons using "assault weapons" since he has been in Philly. I can't think of any.

Send your thoughts to charles.ramsey@phila.gov

Forgot about the part about him breaking the law
The Second Amendment does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not infringe our right.

On the Philadelphia Police Department's facebook page 2 days ago, they made a status update how he was in Washington DC for the "gun control meeting". There were probably 15 comments from various people and all of them were basically telling him to go fuck himself, and that he is not doing enough to lower the crime rate. They also cited his failures in DC and Chicago as police commissioner.

When you get to the "big 10" level of police chief you just make a loop around the different departments. If you are a bad chief, you just take your ineptness with you.
