poll: keep 1 "Pics or Nics"

I can see both sides of the argument. I don't think you can make a generalization about a person based on their answer to this poll.

The people who want PICS are arguing that it's about giving the feds less power.

The people who want NICS are arguing that it's saving money and could do away with the PSP database. Also the system will likely not have as much downtime as PICS tends to have.

All of the above are valid concerns.

Maybe some people just haven't made up their mind, or choose to not take a side on this issue.

My first thought about this was that if we keep the feds out of it by keeping PICS I'd probably favor that, but someone stated that PICS uses NICS, so the fed is involved anyhow. (I didn't know that). That being the case I'm in favor of dropping the redundancy, skip PICS and go directly through NICS, since NICS is being used regardless. Now, the angle of the PSP Database helps me move even further toward eliminating PICS. The less gov. involvement the better. (At any level).

PICS is a redundancy; it uses NICS to run the check. It will essentially do away with the non-registry registry.

Wrong according to Gunlawyer, not according to my personal lawyer and since the bill isn't even out of committee we still don't know what the final form will be.

Sure, it's wrong according to him but if anyone here actually took the time to read either that entire thread where the quotes originated or from the ones listed in that link you would see he makes a very good argument against it.

I said keep PICS but it really doesnt matter if the feds get the info anyway. Personally I dont see why the stinking gov needs to have so much about us.

OK, so now I'm back to favoring PICS and keeping the fed out of it. Misinformation had me thinking that NICS was the default system being used when in reality it appears as though it's just the NICS information being used by PICS.

(Or am I still wrong?)

First let me just say that I've never been known to have any kind of finesse when it come to people skills. I've been called too blunt more than once, with that being said

Holy Sh*t,
I didn't think a simple poll was that complicated, all I was trying to know was if you (the pollster) favored pics or nics. Basically it's a question of whether you favored a national data base or a local one, Don't be so naive to think the federal government won't keep a record of sale or a register. here in Pa it's against the law, yes they side step it by the receipt of sale which we have the ability to challenged, the federal government has no such limitations

I'm getting my poll is flawed, From Mr g. yet no vote for "how about them eagles" So that tells me Mr G is just here to bitch, Move along Mr.g if I wanted to hear someone bitch I would've posted my question over on poofa,
Basically I just wanted to know the mindset of the people here, I didn't realize my question was so complicated..

I understand there's redundancy as far as nics and pics, That's not the question. again I was just curious about the people here.. but i guess I got my answer 146 views and 9 votes..

So much for gun owner comradery.. Can't even leave a don't give a sh*t(how about them eagles)..
With the Second Amendment saying what it says, Why isn't the Federal Government Suing NY
