Pope Demands 'Legitimate Redistribution' of Wealth

Friday, 09 May 2014 09:22 AM
I AM CATHOLIC BUT I DONT THINK THIS IS APPROPRIATE. I AM BY NO MEANS RICH, QUITE THE OPPOSITE BUT HE HAS NO RIGHT TO DEMAND ANYTHING. das

Pope Francis called Friday for governments to redistribute wealth to the poor in a new spirit of generosity to help curb the "economy of exclusion" that is taking hold today.

Francis made the appeal during a speech to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the heads of major U.N. agencies who met in Rome this week.

Latin America's first pope has frequently lashed out at the injustices of capitalism and the global economic system that excludes so much of humanity, though his predecessors have voiced similar concerns.

Normally I would try to stick up for my relegion but in this case NO. If someone wants to give to the poor thats great but to have the .gov, any .gov decide who gets what is unacceptable.Angry

We better get used to it. Pretty soon every asshole with any kind of political influence is going to be pushing this nonsense.

I'm not really sure this is anything new for the catholic church, though. They've been involved in liberation theology for a long, long time.
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.

If the pope wants to redistribute wealth, he can start with my Catholic parish's priests and take their Cadillacs and shore homes

There needs to be more redistribution of intelligence, dedication to family, and strong work ethic.

Hey Pope, ever hear the one about "teaching a man how to fish" or "God helps those who help themselves"?

Admit nothing.  Deny everything. Demand proof.
If we lie to the government, it's a crime. If the government lies to the people, it's called politics.

Marxism is rule by the lowest common denominator. Everyone gets an equal share of nothing. You cant divide by zero, and that is why Marxism fails.

And

They showed Jesus a gold coin and said to him, "The Roman emperor's people demand taxes from us." He said to them, "Give the emperor what belongs to the emperor, give God what belongs to God, and give me what is mine."

The US government is "of the people, by the people and for the people, There is no emperor. God is not about money which leaves "give me what is mine". Income inequality has nothing to do with religion.
