Exactly!!!! Why is the Fed always trying to coddle the lazy, ignorant and criminals in this country?

Because the Feds are lazy, ignorant & criminals...just a guess.

One of my neighbors was a doctor at a major orthopedic centers in the Lehigh Valley and practiced pain management was telling me about how many people have become addicted. Even older people that never smoked drank or did dope wind up hooked on opiates. People from all walks of life.
The protocol has changed dramatically over the last couple years in order to prevent this but if you study the effects opiates have on the brain you may begin to understand the issue.

The lazy, ignorant will never take time to look into a situation and just assume........
I can almost guarantee there are people in your life you respect that are hooked on some level and you don't even know it. That's how prevalent it is.

Agree. We had a discussion about this the other day with one of our intensivists. He said that it's accepted that it's really bad practice to go to opiates too quickly for chronic pain management, because "you'll never get them off the stuff." Other drugs exist that are better for certain types of pain, but opiates are easy. And, the human body likes the stuff too much.

Right now the only practical pain relief for serious pain is opioids sometimes neurotin works but really it's either the poppy or pain.

True. Having seen family members go through the end of life process I'm glad that they are available. And glad that the medical community has embraced more pain therapy management approaches.

I suffer from severe back pain from time to time. If I turn or twist the wrong way I feel a little pop and my back tightens up so bad I can't walk for a week or two. This happens on average once or twice a year. The only thing that helps is a strong opiate pain-killer combined with muscle relaxers.

The problem is I've moved a lot and I'm normally healthy so I don't have a regular doctor. So when I go to the local urgent care or whatever they don't know me and assume I'm just a pill seeker. Really pisses me off that I have to suffer because the doctors are more concerned about preventing addiction than they are about treating severe pain.
