POV Gun Mount Options
So, what options are out there for mounting pistols in your POV within easy reach?

What about ideas for stowing a long arm?

What say you PA2A?

These are the two that I use.

The truck does not have a center console, so mounting options are more limited. I chose to mount a holster under the steering column with this:

For my SUV, I have a small center console, so hidden storage is out. I got one of these that is mounted on the console between the console and the driver's seat:

Doesn't the steering column get in the way of unholstering with that steer clear? If i were to mount something like that I'd have to put it to the left of the column and draw with my left hand.

I've been eying something like this for a pistol mount.

I'm not against drilling holes. I'd prefer to have something in the area of my right knee and something like the crossbreed surface mount would place it just about in the perfect position between my knee and the center console in the excursion.

I don't have a problem in my truck or my girlfriend's car but your vehicle may be different. Plus, I'm right handed. Left handed people would have a problem.

That is similar to the Grassburr setup. But the Grassburr is more compact. I think it looks better too but that is my opinion. And looking at the Crossbreed price, there isn't that much of a difference.

If cost is a concern, they also offer a cordura holster option.

Just watched the Yankee marshal mount a grassburr in a prius. Looks pretty sweet!

He also used a left hand Blackhawk holster in another video to mount it to a center console next to his right leg which was a good idea. Might have to dig around and see what kind of holsters I can find and look into making my own mount like this.

I could see one being able to do that with the way Blackhawk! makes their mounting bases.

This. Center console if deep enough or behind seat.

That's a really sweet way to add a safe in a car. If i need an option for locking a gun in a vehicle this would be the only style of safe I could use probably. I don't have room under my seats due to the electronic seat controls.

I did figure out a way to mount two pistols in my SUV with quick access. I'll post more details later.

As far as mounting a long arm, I really wish I had roll bars like inside a Jeep Wrangler. Those overhead mounts are pretty sweet.

I'd love to find a good way to mount an AK or AR pistol within reach. Why? Because 'MURICA! And in Pennsylvania these "pistols" can be kept loaded unlike their 16"+ barreled big brothers.

Man, sometimes you just can't beat the bargain bin at the LGS. Picked up two used L/R hand nylon holsters for 19 bucks OTD the other day and finally figured out a way to make them work perfectly for my POV.

Since I already have a CB hard mounted to the underside of the dash I just added another radio mounting bracket to the side screws so I had a surface to mount other things underneath. Put the small frame holster on the left side and I've got plenty of room to reach it and add things underneath when I want.

Next was to find a spot for the large frame holster. After looking at what I got with the holster and what I had to work with I figured out the perfect setup. The holster came with a large double "hook" sided velcro pad which sticks perfectly to the "carpet" material on the bottom half of my leather seats. Just add the "loop" velcro sided holster and presto! I tried mounting this between my legs but found the best spot right on the corner of the seat beside my right leg. It's surprisingly really sturdy and doesn't flop around at all! If I wanted to I could even reinforce this by running a long strip of double sided "hook" velcro across the front, over the holster and down the right side of the seat but I don't think it's necessary. If you have upholstery like this I would definitely give this a try.

Now everything is tucked away nicely but can be easily accessed if needed. The retention straps keep them from bouncing out and I'll keep extra holsters in the car for carrying these how I want when I'm not on the road.
