Just had a MRE- beef patty.
Heated it in the microwave.
Very good.
I have more of a history with LRPR which are very good.
But you have to heat water.

I have both - mixed -I'm set up for about three months plus.

Ugh...

The sent me the wrong tracking number. The package I had looked at yesterday that was supposed to be here today is going to Maple Falls, WA. Mine won't be here until TEOTWAWKI (if Obama wins) day.

That UPS driver will certainly be grateful you prepared him for the
Obamapocalypse.

If you have the funds for them the freeze dried meals are great to have on hand. Just add hot water and eat right of the bag. No mess, no pans or dishes to deal with, especially if you are in a situation where you don't have running water or water is scarce. Since I am still without power and have had to return to work these have been ideal for me. Wake up or come home from work, heat up some water and you have a no mess meal in about 10-15 minutes.

Other things that are good to have around that store for a long time are powdered eggs, powdered milk, freeze dried veggies, meats, and of course rice and beans.

If you're just concerned with hunkering down for a few days during a Winter storm or hurricane, canned goods from the local Giant & tap water in clean buckets will do just fine.

Myself; I like to be prepared for the long run. We keep two days worth of MRE's (For two people) in each vehicle. I keep enough MRE's in the BoB for two days & two cases in the basement.

Not counting what's in our well stocked pantry, we have 9 months worth (And counting) of Mountain House FD in #10 cans. That's three meals a day, each with an entree, fruit, & vegetable. There's always at least 25 gal of drinking water here, plus there's a spring fed stream running through our property.

With our aging infrastruture, I can see power outages, lasting more than a few days as a distinct possibility during a blizzard or storm, so you may want to plan accordingly. Or....you can do nothing & wait for the government to provide food, clothing & shelter. That plan doesn't seem to be working out too well for the residents of NY & NJ, though. I'm not making light of their situation, just sayin'.
