Quote:EAST NORRITON — The pregnant wife of a Pennsylvania state trooper was fatally wounded Friday afternoon when she was shot in the 3000 block of Stoney Creek Road.

The woman was transported to Mercy Suburban Hospital where she was pronounced dead. There was no word on the status of her unborn child, and the victim’s identity is being withheld until the family has been notified.

East Norriton Township police responded to the scene at 2:55 p.m. and found the victim inside the residence, according to a press release issued by Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin R. Steele.

A joint investigation of the shooting by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and East Norriton Police is underway.

East Norriton and state police had the entire block cordoned off with barricade tape as they remained at the scene into the evening.

Neighbors expressed shock and sorrow upon hearing the news of the shooting.

I'm not buying this one either..

Officials confirm JoAnn Miller, a pregnant woman in her early 30s, was shot and killed Friday afternoon. The details surrounding her death remain under investigation.

It was around 2:30 p.m. when police got the call here on the 3000 block of Stoney Creek Road in East Norriton.
When officers arrived at this house, they found Miller shot. She was rushed to Mercy Suburban Hospital for treatment where she was later pronounced dead.

“She was shot and killed. She was pregnant at the time. The baby did not survive,” Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin Steele said.

A horrific tragedy that investigators say could be an accident. They wouldn’t release the details of the shooting, but say preliminary results show the gun involved may have been accidentally discharged.
“We are investigating the case. There’s some indications at this point it was an accidental discharge on the gun, but that’s under investigation, and I can’t go any further than that,” Steele said.

It’s not known yet who was handling the weapon when it went off. The victim’s husband called 911 and is in law enforcement himself.
“He is a off-duty state trooper and was cooperative with us throughout this investigation,” Steele said.

The gun involved was not the officer’s service weapon. His name has not been released.

Neighbors said the couple was always friendly.
“Kept quiet, kept to themselves. When we had a tree blow down in a storm, they came up with a chainsaw and helped us cut the tree up,” neighbor John Silks said.

The couple has two other children together. CBS 3 is told the children were at home at the time of the incident.

What the fuck is wrong with you people? We have no idea what happened and three out of the five comments are plain stupid. How about we find out what happened, see what action is going to be taken and then comment.

As it is, we know a pregnant woman died tragically of a gunshot and was the wife of a Trooper. That's it, nothing else.

Why don't you cop haters crawl back under the rocks where you came from?

Hate is like cancer, left untreated it spreads to the whole body. Some here are so filled with hate they can no longer reason logically.

It doesn't matter to me whether or not he was in law enforcement or not. I'm sorry for the victim's family. It is a tragic event. I'm sorry if I am also starting to become numb towards stories of tragedy. In the future I'll try to re-word my statements better. When making my initial comment I thought a) accidental discharges are rare, b) accidental dischages hitting innocent bystanders are rarer, and c) accidental discharges involving innocent bystanders being killed are the rarest. Again, sorry for the asshole comment. I'll try to express my opinions in a better manner.
