WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is taking his case for avoiding a potentially unsettling "fiscal cliff" to the Philadelphia suburbs, employing campaign-style tactics in hopes of mobilizing public support for his plan to hike taxes on the wealthy. The trip comes amid signs of impatience in the negotiations between Republican leaders and the White House.

Obama was scheduled to go to Hatfield, Pa., to pressure Republicans to extend existing Bush-era tax rates for households earning $250,000 or less, while allowing increases to kick in for those with incomes above that threshold. LINK: http://xfinity.comcast.net/articles/news...cal.Cliff/

He's gonna tax everyone in every way possible. Tax cuts are a smoke screen. He just wants the debt ceiling power and if GOP caves, it's OVER

This is only going to burn the GOP even more in 2014.

Like it or not, over half of the US supports raising tax on the wealthy...compared to ~37% who do not. (undecideds/no opinions not included)

Holding 98% of the middle/lower class hostage is not how you win votes.

Even the GOP is split on this.

Since when did the GOP become so absolutely retarded when it comes to math?

Fox said this morning, if the wealthy (250.00 and up) get taxed, its enough to run the government for 11 days.

I think it's not that there bad at math, it's that they are good at it. The house has the power here they should walk away until this administration puts forth a plan that includes spending cuts. We run a 1.6 trillion deficit and raising the taxes they want to will raise a couple hundred billion tops, how are the GOP the bad ones at math?

His plan is to increase taxes on some people, but not enough to make a difference, increase spending and demand that the authority to raise the debt limit be his and not congress'(a violation of the constitution since all spending must start in the house) and you want to blame the Republicans? No wonder we're in the shit!
