Problem with 'edit' features...
#1
In replying to a post, when I have tried to use any of the features such as 'bold', 'italics', quote tags, etc. the feature doesn't show and I get this response...

[undefined=undefined]blah, blah, blah[/undefined]

Is it just me? Huh

For now I use the built in bbcode in firefox.
The Second Amendment does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not infringe our right.

I can get the desired results by manually adding the appropriate tags, it's only the GUI buttons that don't work.

Did you see the close tags button in the top right corner of the editor box?

I haven't had the issue at all until tonight.

Win7, FireFox 16.0.1, AdBlockPlus is the only add-on. Java and FireFox are up-to-date. Warm reboot to see if the issue continued, it does.

I don't have the issue on any of my vBulletin sites, But I [undefined=undefined] DO [/undefined] have this issue on every MyBB site.

You're obviously not alone, but I'm not having that problem. I just went to one of my existing posts and tried the edit. Quick edit doesn't offer any of those features, (as one would expect) and full edit seems to be fully functional for me, it seems to work as well as making a new post.

I resist updates, I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
I'm using XP Home edition and Firefox 3.6.

We haven't had any forum updates, plugins or anything to affect the full edit functions. The only thing I can think of is to make sure your Java is enabled and functioning.

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

A few weeks ago I broke down and tried a browser other than IE, the only one I've used since I found my way to cyber space as a young lad.

Chrome, I have to say it does seem to be faster and "lighter" and all is working fine here on the forum using it. As an added bonus it had a built in spell checker that will underline a misspelled word in red as you type.

Nothing wrong with using multiple browsers! I use IE for work applications. I also have Firefox that I use for forums and personal web surfing which I have my bookmarks synced up to my home and laptop! Awesome feature! I also use Chrome on occasions just to test and stuff. It is nice but really light on features. But there is nothing run with having several browsers on your desktop! They are tools...sometimes you need the right tool for the job! Big Grin
