I don't carry a gun to feel like a man, I carry a gun because as a man that is also a husband and a father I am man enough to take on the responsibilities of protecting myself and my family.

I am also man enough to know what my capabilities are; I have no intentions of slugging it out with some thug wishing to harm me and mine just because "I am a man".

I am man enough to know to keep myself out of situations where encountering predators on two legs is high and to know when those "no other options" circumstances arise that I can and must defend myself or others with my gun.

A gun guy may not be "man enough" for you, so lay your head down knowing your boyfriend can dial 911 and that he will be with you, hiding in the corner, during that incredibly slow police response time. My wife sleeps soundly knowing that when the predators come sniffing around our door, we have the means to repel them and when the police arrive they can write the report with us still alive to tell it.

Well, assuming I was straight again (haven't been that for quite a number of years!)... my response would be right now:

"I have an 805 FICO score. I own a 3,000sqft 4 bedroom house. I am a man; I am financially independent. I worked hard at it. I don't have a mountain of student loan debt and I'm financially responsible, because that's what a man is expected to do. I care about my community and volunteer a lot of hours towards it. I try to bridge the gap between upset neighbors and the police department as a board member for my townwatch. I run a blog that exposes financial inadequacy in the City of Philadelphia and I fight blight. I want my city to shed its stigma as "the next Detroit". It has never been the next Detroit and it's not going to be now. I have guns because I have owned them and used them since I was a boy.

I have installed $6,000 worth of security improvements to my own house to try to prevent a home-invasion as best as I know how, but even that is not enough to stop it from happening. Ask some of my former neighbors who had their garage doors crashed in and their heirlooms stolen while they were sitting in their living rooms terrorized with fear at gunpoint.

So I'm sorry that you think I'm not a man because I own, possess and use firearms safely and responsibly. I hope you find what you're looking for in the ocean of dregs out there. Now take your gold-digging, Bank Of Mom&Dad Borrowing, Main Line drowning-in-debt self with bad highlights back to the suburbs and go fuck yourself. Besides, for every one of you out there sweetie, there's 5 more stunning natural red-heads in Northeast Philly who's idea of a big night on the town worthy of putting-out is spending $40 at a Chickie-N-Petes and they could give a rat's ass that I have guns. I can easily swing $300 a weekend taking you to a Starr jawn but... meh. Why waste money on stupid?"

I carry a gun because it is MY RESPONSIBILITY AS A MAN to protect you (the female) and I from anybody who wishes to inflict serious bodily injury or death on us. For me not to carry and not be able to protect you is irresponsible.

Edit: She looks like a Kardashian-watching, materialistic bitch anyways who I would never give the time of day to.

That may work on some gals but I doubt for the stereotypical chick /w fake quote posted in OP.

It's like being anywhere near a Vegan. If you remotely like bacon you're better off just avoiding them as much as possible because there's no way to bridge that gap.

So much easier being gay.

If you work out and bulk up your dating pool widens up. Don't workout and become tubby, and the dating pool narrows down. Pretty simple.

The ones looking for "str8 acting" in their dating profiles; the fact that you own firearms pretty much checks that off their list.

But most of the ones demanding that are flighty gym rats who look brutish as much as possible in their photos but then when you meet them in person a purse falls out of their mouth, so it winds up being a disappointment all the same. I usually get up an walk out when I start hearing the word "like" being used as an adverb.

Should read:

Yeah, he's cute and very funny. I think he's perfect. I just can't get over the fact that he likes guns. It is useful and reassuring. Someone as smart as him realizes that there are bad people in the world who will try to hurt others. He would rather be able to protect me than cower in a corner while I'm being harmed. Thank god I'm not a tool that talks using the words of others because I don't know what I am talking about.

Hmmm

(and this applies to "real women" too in my book)

I think her idea of a real man is a bit skewed:

Is the gay ( Tongue ) man who is a responsible citizen and also carries a gun a real man...YEP

Is that body guard who is probably protecting this wench a real man.....I bet she would say yes for sure!!!

Are the men who protect our country today real men....YEP

Are the men who WON OUR FREEDOM from an oppressive gov't in the 1700's WHO HELPED GIVE YOU THE FREEDOMS YOU HAVE TODAY real men......YEP

Are you judging a book by its cover? Are you broad brushing a whole segment of society because of a few evil people? Are you practicing your RIGHT of FREEDOM of SPEECH given to you by these same groups of people you are demonizing?

YES, YES AND YES YOU HYPOCRITICAL WENCH.

Don't ruin Arctic's fantasy.
A gun rack in a pick-up is not for holding guns. Its a place for women to hold on to. Smile
