I bought two. I would buy some more but I want to pick up the other bits needed to build some guns.

I keep thinking about doing this... but I just know that I order one of these with the intention of letting it sit until I am ready to get the rest of the parts. But I know that as soon as I get it then I'll start buying the rest of the parts that I can't afford....

UGH!

Damn you! Damn you all to hell...

After posting the above reply, I changed my mind. I can not believe I just took my first step to building/owning an AR-15.

This will be be a good test for me. I'm going to do this slowly and only when I can afford it. The good news is that I am going to chronicle the entire build on my YouTube channel.

You know that is a great question. I really don't know. None of the PSA "regular" lowers are in stock. So they removed the prices. I know that other lowers go for $100+.

I've heard good things about PSA and I'm not concerned with a "blemish". It's gonna get scratched up at some point.

Cheapest lowers I've been able to find are $80+ right now with most basic forged lowers running in the $100 to $120 range.

Right now I'm sitting on another Mega billet upper and lower, a Sabre Defence PMR upper and assorted bits and pieces. I'll keep looking for sales and pick stuff up when I find it.

The Mega Arms AR I already built is awesome. One of my buddies from my previous employment and fellow firearms instructor shot it on Monday. He said it's the smoothest AR he has ever fired. Made me kind of proud. That's what made me want to build some more but I'm not paying the $200 plus for a Mega billet lower.

I read the PSA lowers are good quality. Supposedly made by Aero Precision for them. I figured at $60 bucks it won't hurt too bad if they aren't good.

I have good news: PSA is always running specials on different pieces... and at very good prices. Sign up for their e-mail alerts to get a heads-up. Then... when a lower parts kit goes on sale, POUNCE. When a stock goes on sale, POUNCE. Lather. Rinse. Repeat.

They're typically $99.95. Here's a tip: If something is out-of-stock and you want to know the price, add it to the "Compare" list.

Do you have experience with their lowers? I jumped in blind based on some posts on other gun forums. I'd like to know what I can expect.

Apparently, they no longer source from Aero Precision. Their serial numbers used to have the "AP" prefix... and now have "LW." Consensus is they get them from LW Schneider (who apparently supplies their LPKs... so it would figure).

I have one "LW" lower that went-together without a hitch (used their LPK as well)... and another on the way thanks to this sale. Mine is well-made, solid and in-spec. The anodizing might not be considered "thick" or "rich," but I'm not mad at it one bit.
