No issues with light strikes with this trigger setup. The Alamo Four Star brake is excellent!! I highly recommend it.

Here is the site that tested a bunch of brakes: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2015/07/13...zle-brake/

The ASC mags are working fine now. Not sure what had caused the initial issue. And they will feed 2.830" rounds, unlike the standard 308 MagPul mags.

I put my 4x Vortex w/American Defence mount on for this test. Accuracy dropped to just over 1" @ 100 with American Eagle 150gr. So I have no doubt that this rifle will do very well with handloads and better glass.

Thanks for that link!

I've been considering a brake for my M&P10. Too bad they don't have the YHM brake I have on my MVP as well. I would like to know how it rates.

I have a JP Cooley brake, they test it as JP large, and DPMS Miculek brakes, too. The Alamo has the most noticeable recoil reduction but greater "concussion" for the shooter/spotter. The advantage and drawback of the rear facing ports.

They do tend to do that. I've already warned my buddy about the brake on my MVP. Being that it's a bolt action, it tends to kick a little more than my M&P10 does. Nothing action wise is absorbing any of the recoil. It isn't terrible but it is nice to tone it down a bit. I need to get the thing out to the range and get it sighted in so I can take it hunting this year. I would love to take out the "big" Smith but PA is so poo poo on semi-auto firearms for most hunting. I don't think they even accepted the proposal to allow them for coyote hunting like it seemed like they were going to. If they didn I didn't hear anything or see it in the book. Sad

Added an Odin Works handguard, today. The Alamo 4 Star brake is in the picture too. As expected the gun is very happy with the basic 168 BTHP over 41gr IMR 4895 @ 2.800. Have yet to run the 175 yet.

I like it. I have the same butt stock too. Very nice compared to the factory one. It found a new home on my 22lr AR.
