Rails that bridge delta ring (Monolithic Look)
#1
Ok, I think I am going to get a standard 16" carbine upper or maybe a mid length but I still want to get something with attitude! Can anyone recommend some nice fore grip rails that bridge the delta ring for a mock monolithic look? I'm leaning toward the Vltor CASV system but I'm not sure I like the raised rail and lack of side rails. I'd like to see some options with a standard rail height and/or quad rails.

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

I'm looking to get a YHM Todd Jarrett carbine forearm. (YHM-5002-TJ)

Not sure if this even remotely addresses your inquiry or not though.
I really don't know what rails use/don't use a delta ring - I assume 2-piece forearms do?

I really don't like rails (not comfortable to hold/small hands) and I really don't like plastic (Milspec/MAGPUL), so this should solve my problem at a price I can sort of afford.
The carbine length has a "cutout" on the top for A2 sight post with the rails on sides and bottom moved forward keeping the "grip area" real estate free of rails. The smooth area is supposed to be the same as a standard carbine fore end.

can't find many pics of the carbine lengths with A2 sights, but this shows the front clearly even if it is a short barrel...

Continuous rail look...

I don't know what the quality is, but it has to be better than some of the "airsoft rail crap" that people buy and how could it be worse than plastic?

I have one in a shopping cart while I look through my ammo supply to see how much I am willing to sell to see if I can cover it.

Hopefully nobody comes along and says it's junk after I hit "buy".

Hate to give up ammo at a loss after taking so long to get it, but...

I get you on the mono look. The Rhino Rail for Rem/Mossy shotguns (Elite Tactical Advantage) is quite boner-inducing.
tolerance for failure meter... LOW

EM, I think YHM stuff is great quality at a great price! I really haven't heard anything bad about any of their products!

Here is a pic of what I really want to build! I like the folding front sight instead of a FSB...I might look for an upper with a rail height gas block. That will open up all kinds of config options for me beyond what you can do with a FSB!

After thinking about it, I'm going to wait until I have more money to spend.

Yes, doing away with the A2 front post frees up a lot of options.
Maybe that's why I don't care for AR15s - too much thinking.

Gimme a simple rifle.

Update/threadjack: Wink

After getting an email from Primary Arms with a coupon code (15RAIL2) for an ADDITIONAL 15% off all in-stock AR15 rails, I decided to sell MORE ammo and just get this NOW.

These rails run around $150 on the net and at the clearance price of $99 it was a deal, but for $84.80 I'd be retarded not to jump on it. (sale ends today)

NOTE: If you DO try to order one, the code shows as "invalid". Not sure if it's because it is on clearance, or what, but I emailed them (they were closed on the weekend) and they got me hooked up with the discount this morning with a phone call. Two thumbs up for Primary Arms customer service at this crazy time of year!
