Recommended Holster for the Gym
#1
I know I own a firearms business, but this is a new topic for me. The gun business is a side business of mine. I'm a full-time LEO and of course deal with lots of "unique" people. I'm very active at the local gym. Unfortunately, there are a few "clients" who also work out at the same gym. I never gave it a thought to actually have a gun on me while I work out until recently.

Anyone have any recommendations for concealable holsters for wear at the gym during a workout? I have a Glock 42 and a S&W Bodyguard, so I don't need anything for a large frame auto. If there's nothing much out there, I'll just keep my gym bag nearby. But I'd really like to have a gun on me if possible.

EDIT: I should note that I wear t-shirts and gym shorts to work out. So inside the waistband holsters won't work well. The weight of even such a small gun would pull my shorts down.

It kinda depends on your work out clothes I think. Do you have pockets? I would think a pocket holster for either of the two guns listed would work. I have this one for my lcp and it carries fine in sweat pants pockets.

Another option could be the remora holster. I personally haven't tried one, but lots of people seem to like them.

I don't have much experience with this and have nothing to suggest because I'm fat and lazy and I don't go to the gym.

I'm gonna say try the SmartCarry. It might take some getting used to for a guy, I guess, to have it right there below your pelvis, but it works for any outfit.

They have great customer service too! I had one of theirs for my LCP and then I switched to a Sig p238, which is larger than the LCP and didn't fit in my holster anymore. On a whim, I wrote them to ask if I could switch out a good condition small holster and trade for the size up...and they let me!!!! Which was super cool.

If you do a lot of running and stuff you might want to put some sort of tight shorts or something over top of the gun, because it might flop around a little if all you have on is loose basketball shorts. But otherwise I would consider it the best choice for a gym situation if you absolutely have to have a gun there. I have worn mine with a very lightweight, elastic waistband skirt and it conceals great.

I've never tried one so I can't really comment on how comfortable/effective they are. However, every time I hear someone discussing SmartCarry holsters I'm reminded of this:

Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

I use the Pistol Wear PT-2 for when I'm working out that has worked well.

Ruger Girl has a good suggestion with the Smartcarry. I have one and will say that it conceals well. During warmer weather I usually wear gym shorts and will attest to the fact that they won't stay up with any sort of IWB, pocket carry or clip on holster. Even my NAA mini .22 is too heavy for pocket carry with that type of shorts.
The one thing I don't like about my Smartcarry is the Velcro fastener is in the back and if it isn't fastened perfectly there will be an edge of Velcro exposed and it itches like crazy. Perhaps a layer of cloth thicker than underwear might solve that problem, but if the exposed edge is at the top it can ride a bit higher than underwear and I think most people will agree that the bottom of the back/top of the ass is a fairly sensitive area and the itch of Velcro is rather uncomfortable anywhere.

Those who watch things happen,

Just to update everyone (I'm sure you all were waiting with anticipation), I've just decided to start using a gym bag and putting my pistol in there. The bag never leaves my sight. Plus, any type of holster would interfere with my workout in some form or another. Plus, when lifting, I'd rather focus on that than if my gun is still secure on me.
