Registration prevents crime...

...wait, no it doesn't.

Body of abducted Florida girl found at church

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/06/22/pol...latestnews

Quote:An Amber Alert was issued for Charish Perriwinkle after she went missing Friday night. St. Lonnie Mills of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office tells The Florida Times-Union that the pair was befriended by a man who offered to take Charish to buy a snack at the front of the Jacksonville Wal-Mart.

The man is a registered sex offender. Sheriff's office spokesman Shannon Hartley said Saturday that the 56-year-old man had been taken into custody after officers surrounded his van.

About an hour later, authorities said the girl's body was found at a church.

Granted, you gotta fail pretty bad as a parent to allow your 8yr old to go off with a stranger in Walmart. Apparently his registration as a sex offender didn't prevent him from committing yet another crime. This kind of parallels what liberals want with gun registration.

Unfortunately in the twisted views of a liberal this is somehow an example of a success with the registration system.

This is horrible. What parent would allow their child to go somewhere with a stranger?

I don't have a problem with sex offender registration necessarily, but I agree it does nothing to prevent a repeat offense, and these types of laws do parallel the mentality of gun legislation.

The only difference is that sex offender registration is for criminals who have committed a crime. Gun registration effects law abiding citizens needlessly. Most gun registration restricts our freedoms in some way and creates the strong possibility of a law abiding citizen to suddenly be classified as a felon for exercising the rights provided in our Constitution.

Damn the world is a friggin' mess.

You wouldn't be able to run as many people over with that car if it didn't drive as far. It should only have a 10 gallon fuel tank.

If sex offenders were sentenced properly, we wouldn't need sex offender registration.

The system worked much better when they were intermixed with other inmates and things just sort of sorted themselves out.

Registration does prevent crime. Here's how. The law requires something to be registered. Not registering said thing is a crime. Registering that thing prevents you from breaking the law of not registering therefor preventing you from committing that crime.

It must be so fun to sit in a office all day somewhere and invent new crimes. I should run for office.

Daydreaming about someone else is now a crime. Please submit yourself for re-education.

Dammit! I forgot to put my tinfoil hat on. Oh wait, those are outlawed too now aren't they, unless you register it with the local authorities.
