Released on Unsecured Bail due to Scheduling Conflict

I see a judge that needs to be looking for work.

Quote:One hardship, the judge noted specifically, was Jenkins being a juvenile victim in a felony criminal case.

"What he's been through with (that) … and what he's been through throughout his life," Judge Dennis Reinaker said at the hearing. "Justin, my sense is that you've been at Lancaster County Prison long enough."

The release happened in such rare fashion because of what Reinaker called a scheduling "snafu."

Jenkins was scheduled to plead guilty Thursday to all the charges; the judge planned to hand down his sentence immediately.

Somewhere along the line, there was a miscommunication about the plan with the district attorney's office, Reinaker said.

Prosecutors weren't prepared Thursday to proceed with sentencing and hadn't notified victims of the burglaries.

Therefore, the judge, in what he called an "appropriate compromise," ordered that Jenkins be released on unsecured bail.
