Report: Story of girl kicked out of KFC was hoax

A story of a girl kicked out of KFC sparking national outrage was a hoax, according to reports.

The 3-year-old girl who was reportedly kicked out of a KFC in Jackson, Mississippi, because the scarring on her face — remnants of a pit bull attack — were disturbing customers, was nothing more than an elaborate hoax, reports Laurel Leader-Call.

The family of Victoria Wilcher claimed that she and her grandmother were asked to leave a KFC restaurant because her dog-attack scars were scaring patients, prompting the fast food chain to donate $30,000 to cover the girl’s medical bills.

However, sources told the Laurel Leader-Call that the story didn’t quite add up, so the restaurant hired a private investigator to look into the issue. The findings revealed that there was no security footage of Victoria or her grandmother in the restaurant on the day they claimed they were asked to leave, and there was no record of their order.

The worst part is that until controversy was involved, she could barely get any help. Nothing like a boycott to bring the public to the aid of a cause.

Interesting. Doesn't look like the investigation is complete yet though....but sad if she really did make this up....

I always did think it sounded odd that someone would do that to a little girl.....I have seen people more disturbing than that in public.....but didn't think the grandma would lie.

I've seen elderly women working at the McDonalds drive-thru with prison tattoos, soooo......

Being old doesn't mean being sweet and virtuous. Career criminals age too.

I know, but you can be "not sweet and virtuous" but still not be willing to lie about your little cute grandkid who has already been through crap and doesn't deserve more crap.

I guess, to rephrase, I wouldn't have guessed her grandmother was selfish and evil.

As an interesting note....the pit bulls were owned by grandpa. I wonder if this is the grandmas husband or ex or something....maybe some weird guilty psychology going on here.

I've seen too many who are.

Besides, if a mother and father would be willing to exploit their children by taking credit cards in their name, why wouldn't a grandmother be willing to exploit them also?

And to be clear, the latter is just an example of something that happens every day...I'm not aware of this girl being exploited beyond this incident.

There are some truly evil people out there that are willing to exploit anyone, including themselves. Remember this one: http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/1993...el-normile

I hope the kid still gets the surgeries. However, if it is a hoax, all the family members involved in perpetrating it need to be brought up on charges of conspiracy, fraud, etc. I'm sure the $ amount donated is well beyond the minimum for this to be felony charges.
