That is one nasty bullet / wound channel. I`d like to see the damage from a 12 guage slug. Too bad it has the name it does......

Wow, a liberal douche prosecutor will have a field day with that. The only name I could think of that would be worse, would be a combo of Black Talons and RIP and call it: Black Death ammo. That would be a media wet-dream.

What I want to know is how deep the wound channels from the fragmenting petals are. It didn't look too deep from some of the video, which makes me wonder how it'd act in a human body. Granted the center fragment would definitely penetrate, the fragmented petals may not do enough major damage. Still, that'd be one hell of a nasty wound.

I'm also curious how the round would act after hitting a barrier prior to the target. It seems like it'd act like a shotgun round and lose quite a bit of accuracy. Most situations likely won't ever call for that, but imagine having to fire through a window or windshield during a carjacking.

Reminds me of these. . .

For the sake of argument, if the shooting is found to be justified, what difference does it make what kind of *legal* ammo is used? The aim of self defense is to stop the threat. For that matter, it could be argued that merely carrying a gun proves you're looking for a chance to hurt somebody.

I wonder how well those fragments would stay in the target and not exit the tissue as they curl up. Might raise the risk of collateral damage.

Actually looks a lot like a typical hollow point round except with perforations between predetermined fragments. It's like Hornady's Critical Defense, but with the distinction of the fragments going down further. The name is doomed marketing.

All known barriers?

Except that it's solid copper.

I actually thought it was pretty gimmicky until I saw the videos. Pretty impressive. I wonder how it would work on soft body armor?
