Road Trip to Virginia Saturday...
#1
...and I will have to disarm for about 5 miles out of my 337 mile trip down and the same on the way back. Thanks, MarylandDodgy

Going down to get our new puppy from a breeder in Buchanan Virginia.

Anyone else have any experiences carrying in Virginia? Seems their laws are almost exactly like Pennsylvania's in regards to open carry and duty to inform as well.

No 'encounters' but have oc'd there on several occasions. OC and CC are now permitted in establishments that serve alcohol, but consumption if you are carrying is prohibited.

I was actually pleasantly surprised to learn PA and VA have a reciprocity agreement. I knew I was good to go in WV because I've carried there before. Oh, and no alcohol for me either.

Consumption is prohibited if you are CC. OC technically, it legal.

Quote:§ 18.2-308. Personal protection; carrying concealed weapons; when lawful to carry; penalty.

J3. No person who carries a concealed handgun onto the premises of any restaurant or club as defined in § 4.1-100 for which a license to sell and serve alcoholic beverages for on-premises consumption has been granted by the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board under Title 4.1 of the Code of Virginia may consume an alcoholic beverage while on the premises. A person who carries a concealed handgun onto the premises of such a restaurant or club and consumes alcoholic beverages is guilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor. However, nothing in this subsection shall apply to a federal, state, or local law-enforcement officer.

You've got to love how they always seem to manage to either muck laws up with flawed logic, or the ooops! we didn't think of that scenario. Tongue

Good luck, and have a safe trip!

You wouldn't be able to run as many people over with that car if it didn't drive as far. It should only have a 10 gallon fuel tank.

Guess how many miles I was actually in Maryland.

Two whole fucking miles.

It took me longer to stop twice and unload and load two pistols and six magazines than it did to drive through Maryland!
