Only six more payments and I get to take my factory fresh RIA home
Selling a Ruger P95 and all my 9mm gear to make the transition to 45. A little leery as I will be giving up the ability to carry 50 rounds with me in lieu of a bigger caliber.
Anyone else make the jump?

The only jump I made is trading my 5.45 tantal for a Saiga that shoots .223.
For pistols, I go with 45, 9mm, .380, and .38.
No .40 yet, and honestly I know I'll get one someday.
So no, I guess I didn't make any jump....more equals better though, I carry a 9mm or the revolver as a pocket gun. Less recoil equals faster shot recovery IMHO, but I need more practice with the 45 anyway...seems to shoot low.

Selling the 9 is what's helping finance the purchase of the 45. If I didn't have to, honestly I'd keep the 9. But what with the holidays/birthdays coming and 7 kids, the only way I can look at a 45 without guilt is to sell the 9.

I really like the RIA and have heard nothing but good about them.
I initially looked at the American Classic line (made in the Philippines!!) since I love stainless on guns and chrome on bikes.
But the RIA may have taken the lead in my book due to such positives reports of their customer service.
The thing stopping me from pulling the trigger on getting one is I now shoot .22 LR, 9 MM, and .357 in hand guns and have a hard time adding another caliber to the stable.
Especially since the 9 MM has some nice smack at a more affordable cost to shoot.
But, that being said, I have not ruled out a nice 1911.
I am anxious for you to get your new RIA.
Let us know.
God bless!!

I have an RIA 1911, the "tactical" version. I love it, it is my everyday carry weapon.

My handgun calibers are one Ruger 22/45 .22, three .45 1911s, and one XDM .45. I sold everything else. I only carry a .45, it's my favorite handgun caliber, and the one I'm most proficient with.

Then when the Marines decided to go back, I thought, why have I put it off so long? My only hesitation was capacity differences. But damn the 1911 is a beautiful design

I have also made the switch to 45. I'm selling my stuff off as well. I keep getting crap that 45 is too expensive. But I reload so I don't care.
