Ruger SR1911

I finally picked up a Ruger 1911! LOVE IT! Ruger really knocked this one outta the park!

Here is a cell pic to hold you over until I can take some gun porn pics!

I like the wood grip panels but I may change them out with a set of dark charcoal gray panels that I have...I think the they would look sweet with the black accents on the gun.

What is with Ruger lately? I just saw their AR15 piston guns and uppers! They look superb also...I love the monolithic rail look!

A Reading from the Book of Armaments, Chapter 4, Verses 16 to 20:

Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."

We almost got one of these but then didn't have the money....I like the shorter barrel version though. That one is just too big for me.

A guy at work picked one up a few weeks ago. They look pretty good.

Keep the grips, but swap out the black prts for stainless steel (thumb/grip safety, slide stop, mainspring housing, etc). Is it true that the mainspring housing is plastic?

I recently received my SR1911, after waiting 45 days due to the backlog of the MD 8 day waiting period. I took it to Target Master and LOVED it right out of the box. Well worth the wait! Much smoother trigger and tighter action than the 1911 I first fired in the military. The "Beaver Tail" is a MUST since I know of very few that didn't get bit by the slide, eventually.

It is brand new but sold as used...the original owner traded it in on an AR but never fired it. It was new in the box. I bought it for $500 out the door!

I'll get some good pics soon, I like to use natural light for photography and there has been a shortage of that here lately!
