I have no first hand experience with one but I worked with a guy last year that had problems with his FTF FTE. He sold it. That is the only CZ I have heard anyone having an issue with.

Wow. I think the last I looked at one it was plastic and I was turned off by that.

I was considering one because I like the CZ75 so much, but had to keep telling myself that it isn't the same gun. I'd need to handle one before deciding, but that all metal model is looking rather attractive.

Don't get the plastic kind. Get the all-metal. There are a few to choose from.

From Wikipedia:

"...Unlike most other semi-auto pistols, the slide rides inside the frame rails rather than outside, similar to the SIG P210. This provides a tight slide-to-frame fit and a very efficient barrel lock-up, both of which contribute to good accuracy..."

I have heard very good things about CZ. Every time there is one on the shelf at the shop where I work, it is quickly sold. Unfortunately, all models are hard to get.

A few days ago, I stopped at my local Gander Mountain (shut up) to see if they had any reloading components, just to price them against an internet supplier I found. Lotta nothing, so I checked out the pistol cases, and lo and behold! They had the CZ in stock. I asked the clerk to take it out for me so I could hold it, and I was super disappointed immediately. As much as I love the lines, it's still too thick for me to get a reliable grip quickly. It's the same problem I have with the Glock 26; oddly, the 17 and 19 don't feel as thick, for some reason. I had a 19 for awhile, and though I wasn't enamored of it, I didn't hate it terribly.

So, my search for another subcompact continues. I like the M&P subs, the XDs line, and 1911 Officer's models, of course. I don't get why M&P can make a small doublestack, but Glock can't. I did consider the XDs .45, too, but it holds one less round than a subcompact 1911.

I dunno, I have a 1911 and a .357 snubbie right now. Guess I'll stick with those for a bit, unless someone can suggest a slim, double stack subcompact in either 9mm or .45ACP.

I really wish S&W would make a subcompact version of the Sigma series. I know the reputation they have, but I loved mine, shitty trigger and all. It ran flawlessly for years, until the mag catch went bad. S&W fixed it for free, replaced the entire upper, and had it back to me in exactly 14 days.[/size]
