SCOTUS wont Prohibit Police from No Knock raids on Gun Owners
#1
Quote:WASHINGTON, DC — The U.S. Supreme Court has refused to hear the case of a Texas man whose home was subject to a no-knock, SWAT-team style forceful entry and raid based solely on the suspicion that there were legally-owned firearms in his household.

In denying a petition for certiorari in Quinn v. Texas, the Court let stand a lower court ruling that essentially makes lawful gun ownership and possession grounds for police to evade the protections afforded by the Fourth Amendment and improperly penalizes and limits the Second Amendment right to bear arms.

The Rutherford Institute had asked the Court to weigh in on the case and protect Americans against encroachments on their Second Amendment rights.

Don't they mean no-knock, warranted raids on suspected drug possessors who may have guns in their house? Shrug

So how many innocent people will be killed because they shoot at someone (SWAT) breaking into their home? If cops get killed doing this there should be no punishment to the home owner assuming he is innocent of any other wrong doing.

Exactly. This one was spun a little too hard. If the owner is in possession of drugs (probable cause hence the warrant) then the guns are not legal anyway once the drugs are found.
The problem is that if the cops invade and get shot at, they might be inclined to plant a little dope to justify an otherwise bad move.

Yes because all cops travel with evidence to plant on unsuspecting people.

I am a law abiding, tax paying, former LEO, and a Marine Veteran.

I am not afraid of spiders, terrorists, or the zombie apocalypse.

But no-knock raids scare the shit out of me.

So what, theoretically speaking would it take to "No-Knock" proof your front door? I'm just asking for a friend, for entertainment purposes.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

I would think your friend would need to no-knock-proof the entire exterior of his house, not just the front door.

It depends if the cops decided to show up with the MRAP or a tank. Dodgy

I think he's just thinking of slowing them down enough to figure out it's the Police and not a home invader.
