I recently just got hooked on Magnum PI. I'd also like to see Kurt Russell and Bruce Willis be active with the NRA.

I like Tom Selleck too, he seems to have his head together. I honestly never gave him much thought about anything until that Rosie interview, and then I realized he had some substance to him. Until then I pretty much saw him as some cheesy 80's TV actor with a pornstache.

I don't see Kurt Russel doing it, but he's a libertarian so he may. I think he's overly concerned with his career though, and since he's nowhere near the leading man he once was I think he'd get stonewalled pretty quick.

Bruce Willis could likely get away with it without damaging his career--he's still pretty sought after in films.

Surprised John Voight hasn't been approached yet either. Though, some of his comments could be interpreted poorly too.

I remember seeing one episode where he needed to use a tranquilizer gun, and he didn't shy away from it and handled it pretty well, but I don't have a clue what his stance on gun rights is and don't think its been really put out there.

Which is fine, his "strong work ethic" program is extremely valuable and incredibly necessary, I don't think he would want to spend too much time on 2A issues because it would muddy his primary focus. I like him, and would be perfectly find if he never had anything to do with the NRA because I think what he's doing is where he's most useful.

He didn't come out in support of Walmart hatred when it's popular to do so, and he was attacked by the left for it. I think his 'mission' right now to do what he's doing with the scholarship is where he needs to be, and where his experience is best used.

Camper is exactly right. Glad to see the pro gun community is continuing their "crabs in a bucket" strategy, all dragging each other down for fear another might deliver a message to the antis that the others disagree with. Just replace the name "Ted Nugent" with "assault rifle" as far as the concept goes and some of you guys sound just like a bunch of Fudds. Those damn whipper-snappers with their assault rifles are making us hunters look bad! They're going to ruin it for all of us! You go get a third of the number of ears Ted can deliver a pro gun message to and maybe I'll begin to lend your argument some credence in my mind. You think he would have anywhere near the publicity he does right now if he delivered his message like Wayne LaPierre? Whether you like the delivery or not, he's getting the message out to way more ears than any of us ever would. His over the top personality means broadcasters seek his opinion out on purpose. Regardless of what he says, if most Americans simply understood the difference between a "machine gun" and a "semi-automatic" we'd be much further along dispelling the myths the anti's peddle to take our rights away.

Riiiiiiiight. It's great that his asshattery will be getting so much more exposure than the average redneck dipshit.

It's funny how some of the people here who'd give him a pass for being a douchebag are the same ones who gave me shit for not giving a single fuck about being a "good ambassador" for gun rights, because I'm quick to give someone the finger, or tell a cop to go fuck himself, when they try to violate my rights. Ted Nugent + poaching + calling the President a mongrel = spokesman for responsible gun owners. Jahwarrior72 + open carry + not being a doormat for jackbooted cops = making gun owners in PA look bad.

Pretty much.Tongue In all seriousness though when you first got on I DID think you did gun owners a dis-service but after reading some of your posts I admit I was wrong. As far as I can tell you know your rights and you are not afraid to use your knowledge to your advantage. Nothing wrong with that.

The reason why most people are anti-gun is not because of the delivery of our activists, it is pretty much entirely because of the mythology espoused by the anti's and misconceptions by non-gun owners. On the surface gun control seems like a good idea until you actually look at the stats and look at the concepts involved critically. In my mind as long as that message is spread, regardless of how it's spread within reason, the facts about why gun control is a failure speak for themselves to anyone worn down or receptive to actually hearing them. The argument against TED is pretty much the exact same argument the Fudds use to divide gun owners and ensure more rights are infringed upon.
