Sending a comment to Rave Cinemas

I am in the process of sending a comment concerning a recent movie theater I patronized and am looking for some feedback. Let me know whatever your thoughts are from "great, Do it!" to "that sucks just hit delete already" and ideas of how to word things better, because I am no Sheakespeare by any means....

Quote:Hello.
I am writing you today about my recent experience in your theater in Milford, Oh. My wife and I attended over the new years eve weekend, and we watched the new Hobbit Movie. While the movie was good I couldn't lose myself in it, because of the shooting in Aurora Colorado. I just couldn't completely relax with the knowledge that while I have the will and the tools to defend myself against such threats, in order to use your facilities I must leave those behind because of the prohibition of legally carried firearms inside your theaters. While I absolutely believe in your right as private property owners to place such restrictions on your patrons, I believe that it is a mistaken theory that banning legally owned firearms on your property reduces violence, when as in the case of the Colorado theater it merely left all of the Movie Patrons defenseless against a criminal element who was planning on breaking laws a whole lot stricter than just your "No Firearms" sign. In my opinion "Gun Free Zones" create easy targets for the criminal element. As such I will not be patronizing any of your theaters because of this policy. I hope that you will reconsider the this policy that I believe to be flawed, but I realize that I am probably small enough of a demographic that you will consider me an acceptable loss. Thank You for your time Mark

They won't care or change their policy.
A gun rack in a pick-up is not for holding guns. Its a place for women to hold on to. Smile

I would cut down on any words that aren't really needed. Attention spans are very short these days.

Also, if it were me, I take a stronger stand. I'd tell them that I have decided to no longer spend my money in a Rave theater because I simply can not relax and enjoy the show. I'll choose only those theaters that do not infringe my right to defend myself and my family.

No harm in sending it. Too bad more people don't do it.

This.

Recently I went out with some friends to a club in town. I carry every day and that night was no different. Got to the entrance and noticed that the security was wanding people before they came in so I knew what was about to come. As I approached the man I calmly asked before being wanded if the establishment restricted the carry of firearms. He informed me that no guns were allowed and I said OK and started to walk away. Dumbfounded, the man asked in disbelief whether I was carrying and I said yes and that I would not be coming in. He tried to convince me to disarm and leave it in a vehicle so he could keep an eye on it for me and I kindly declined as I would rather be armed than inside disarmed with a gun in a dark parking lot in the middle of a city.

Needless to say, I sat in the car by myself for 3 hours while my friends went inside and the establishment didn't get a single nickel from me that night. Don't think I will ever return either.

I cant tell you how many times I've been wanded, it went off, and I was just sent along. Unless they tell me they ban guns or have a clear sign, I could care less about seeing a wand. They always think the gun is my belt buckle. That's one hell of a big belt buckle.

Honestly, as I interpret the law, a sign means nothing either, IANAL. Unless they were to ask me to leave I won't care..

Gun bans won't take guns away from those determined to obtain and use them. The idea of these areas turning into TSA style checkpoints just to "keep out the guns" makes my blood boil. To see a damn movie or go to a social venue? Not bloody likely any more.

I try to stay away from these shooting galleries.

However, send the letter. We all need to at least tell them they won't get any more of our money, and then we need to stick to our guns, no pun intended.
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.
