Seperate the people from the military
#1
This is some seriously messed up attempts at driving a wedge between the military and the people they serve. The verbiage is straight UN pc propaganda. Of course, department of defense said it was an isolated incident:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-...Qaeda.html

Quote:A slideshow presentation shown to US Army Reserve recruits classifies Christians, including both evangelicals and Roman Catholics, as religious extremists, placing them in the same category as skinheads, the Ku Klux Klan, Hamas and Al Qaeda.

The presentation also warned that members of the military are prohibited from taking leadership roles in any organization the Pentagon considers 'extremist,' and from distributing the organization's literature, whether on or off a military installation.

The opening slide warns that 'the rise in hate crimes and extremism outside the military may be an indication of internal issues all [armed] services will have to face.'

Citing a Southern Poverty Law Center report as evidence that extremism is on the rise, the Army Reserve presentation blames 'the superheated fears generated by economic dislocation, a proliferation of demonizing conspiracy theories, the changing racial make-up of America and the prospect of 4 more years under a black president who many on the far right view as an enemy to their country.'

Later in the slideshow is a list of groups that exemplify 'religious extremism.'

Included are 'evangelical Christianity,' 'Catholicism,' 'Ultra-Orthodox' Judaism, and 'Islamophobia.'

Most of the list is populated by more widely accepted examples of religious extremist groups, including Al Qaeda, Sunni Muslims, Hamas, and the Ku Klux Klan.

'Men and women of faith who have served the Army faithfully for centuries shouldn't be likened to those who have regularly threatened the peace and security of the United States,' retired Col. Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty, said in a statement.

'It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of wrongheaded characterization.

Simple, oppose the progressive agenda you at an extremist.

Don't like marriage equality? Extremist.
Don't support gun bans to stop gun violence? Extremist.
Creationist? Extremist.
Place God above government? Extremist.
Homeschoolers? Extremists.

Soon, anyone who doesn't further the political agenda of the power base and growth of government power will be an extremist.

Even those who support or oppose that list above.

Agreed. We've been on the DHS watchlist for years now.

True, but now they're coming out and saying it openly.

Catholics are now considered extremists, but Islamists are not?

Think about the implications....catholic colleges like note dame and st Mary's are now in the same leagu as al quada training camps because oth are education centers and essentiall the same?

shit it looks like there atleast 6 islamic groups on that list. its funny that evangelical christianity is at the top of the list. but most overlook their wackjob notions and hold them to high esteem. and yes im attacking christianity again. i know i shouldnt do that because it pisses some of you off, but dont feel bad, if i had it my way ALL organized religion would be done away with. please try and dispute all the EVIL that has been done in the name of religion

If we are going to point out the evil in religion as to why it is flawed, shall we point to all the evil in the name of non-religion or anti-religion to show how that is flawed as well?

One does not need gods to do evil. It seems to help some folks to rationalize the doing and to actually feel good about the evil done, but it is definitely no necessity. All evil is created equal, with or without gods.

Or should we say all evil men are created equal, with or without gods?
