Why not take it apart completely, and sell it/keep it as spare parts?

Eh, I am not big on using used PSA, DPMS, etc. parts as spare parts.
Also, parting it out completely would probably not be worth my time or trouble. Running back and forth to the post office to sell a DPMS gas block for like 15 bucks, a Strike Industries J-Compt for 15 bucks, a used AR-Stoner barrel for 70 or so bucks, a used UTG rail for 80 or so bucks....it'd just waste a lot of time for not a whole lot of anything. Better to sell it cheap as a complete upper I think.
Also, having it around just as spare parts might make me want to just re-assemble it again and then build yet another rifle on the side....which would mean this might go straight back to being an unused, assembled novelty. Hahaha.

I have a rule that I only sell gun stuff to fund other gun stuff. If you have something in particular that you are saving up for (gun related), I say go ahead and sell your upper to help fund that. If not, I would just hold onto it.

Well, then what would it take to turn it into a respectable rifle?
And honestly, if it functions properly and is effective, and most importantly is accurate, how is it a 'joke' rifle other than being a hodgepodge of parts others might not use?
I'm not being sarcastic, I'm honestly questioning it.

Sorry if I came across as offensive or abrasive in my last post. Just explaining poorly I think. 0 sleep and dealing with an infection lol. In the realm of function it functions perfectly fine. It's just something I built on a whim and is fun to talk about with a few of my pals but aside for it being a novelty topic it's perfectly fine and functional. Lots of people have had their AR firsts with it too, I share it openly during range days. I mention the rebuild but it's probably the least likely to happen, more likely is either me wrapping it muddy girl or keep it as is.

So, it is a rifle of proven functionality, with minimal economic value in today's market, that lacks immediate utility for you. I'm thinking well preserved deep storage - i.e. you'll never miss it till you really need it, storage.

Lol I love how you phrased it. Think you basically hit the nail square on the head and this is what I'll do. Thanks for playing along with my silly insomnia driven posts fellas.
