Should I stay or should I go?
#1
After 10 years as a member of EFGA range, I am thinking of not renewing my membership. If I could find a new range near me that has what EFGA used to be like, I would go there. Not being allowed to shoot steel there is the biggest negative. Any suggestions?

If you go there will be trouble, if you stay it will be double...

Mostly the issue with steel. The range used to have soft metal "targets" that would throw all sorts of shit back at you if you shot them. A bunch of the members bought manufactured AR500 targets to use, for our own safety. Do to whatever sort of politics, the range stopped members from bringing properly designed/manufactured targets and has been dicking around purchasing AR500 targets for the range, since the safety issue with their old targets were brought up to the board. It has been over a year and the email to members stated that "they were working with a manufacturer to design new targets."

Let them know that you, and others if there are any, are seriously contemplating leaving due to this issue. If they blow you off you get your answer straight from them.

Did that. The board actually put me in charge of gathering the info on the proper steel, designs and manufacturers for targets. Passed off the info and heard nothing. Sent 3 board members an email a few months ago and heard nothing.

So where can I shoot steel around here?

I forgot to mention that IDPA is allowed to shoot steel there, but not members.

Only two choices, IMHO, after that. 1) Run for the board during the next elections, or 2) get the hell gone, they don't really give a shit about the members. From what you say you are better off gone. Sad
