Sig Makes Ammo!?!
I just found out today that Sig apparently makes ammo now. Their new ammo comes in .380 auto, 9mm luger, .357 sig, .40 s&w, .45auto

Elite Performance Centerfire Pistol Ammunition, with V-Crown Jacketed Hollow Point bullets, is designed to provide superior accuracy, reliability, and performance in a personal defense round.

The SIG V-Crown stacked hollow point design provides a smaller additional hollow point cavity behind the main cavity. This design, along with V-shaped jackets skives and scores provides controlled, uniform expansion at all effective distances and velocities.

The SIG SAUER Elite Performance V-Crown bullet has a unique toothed cannelure located halfway up the shank of the bullet to more effectively lock the jacket and core. This feature provides exceptional structural integrity in a jacketed design, ensuring maximum weight retention and outstanding terminal performance.

A nickel plated brass case reduces corrosion, enhances lubricity, and improves feeding and extraction.

I didn't know that...but I guess I'm not really surprised. I suspect the ability to make money on ammo would greatly exceed the ability to make them on guns, especially in this day and age.

But I admit, I am excited that there is another maker of ammo that I won't be able to find in stores.

This is great news if this is actually Sig's production and not just rebranded ammo made by another manufacturer. The law of supply and demand will not be ignored.
Ammunition, it's the new lead bullion. Buy it cheap and stack it deep.

According to
Quote:...In answer to our query, Mr. Creamer advised SIG Addict that the V-Crown ammo is "produced in a plant with SIG machinery and SIG personnel for SIG only, using the highest grade components, a proprietary bullet design, and [most likely] the only 360 degree laser inspection machine deployed in the industry"...

I wish they would make 9mm +p. I know I am being an "internet commando operator" right now, but I like my 9mm self defense ammo to be a little over 400 ft-lbs. The .357 sig round looks impressive on paper. I did a little more research and this round is really starting to get to me. It's not even that expensive (by that it is on par with .38 special and a little cheaper than .45acp).

Will it come with the premium sig price?

16.99 for .40.

That's more expensive than my HST, but not worse than anything else really.
