Before you purchase personal-protection ammunition, contemplate the following items. Only then can you make an informed decision about what load best suits your unique set of demands.

Hornandy Custom 124gr XTP here. At 15ft goes right through the phone book and takes huge chunks out cinder block. I worry about over penetration with these. Thats out of S&W Shield, havnt tried it with the P95 4.25 barrel yet.

No matter what type of ammo you choose do yourself a favor!
Do a field strip of your pistol and use the dismounted barrel's chamber as a "case gage" with each cartridge you intend to carry for self defense! The cases should drop right in with no undue pressure and seat themselves at or just slightly below the hood of he barrel. Put hose that do not aside for use as practice rounds.

Big fan of Gold Dots here. In my summertime-carry Taurus 617, 7 rounds of 110 gr. Gold Dot .357s fill the cylinder. In the winter, 10 rounds of Gold Dot 180 gr. .45 Autos go along with my Tanfoglio Steel Witness.
