I have the Hunter also. Just posted a pic under 'A few S&W'
I got it because I could not put a scope on my
older S&W Combat 19/357.

I have a Leupold 2.5-8x32. I was just gettin it rightwhen winter came.
Walking it out to 100 yards. I'm sighting in with 38 & 357
and stay with 158gr...... for a while anyway.
Did have a difficult time geeting that ammo for a few weeks.

How are scoped handguns typically fired?

With a rest? "Sticks"?

I would think anyway, but for my group we were shooting long range.
The best, safest we could do was 70 yards. Hitting in 12" target. This was back in the late 70's early 80's. No scopes. The handguns were all 357, 4 & 6" barrels, all makes, but most S&W. We set up a bench we built, like you would find at ranges.Sand bags.
When I started here, with the scope and 100yards I could not hit s**t.
I had to walk it out. Start with 25 yards, then 50, 75.
I can't get, what we call groups. 50 & 75 is ok but 100--- I am happy hitting the target at all. I have to write everything down. Make, gr, type. 38 or 357. It's a whole days work. But when you see a hole its wonderful.
