Smithsonian director wants Martin's hoodie
#1
Good grief. Next the Pope will want to promote Martin to sainthood....

To be completely fair, the article does not make it clear if he wants it for a private collection, or to be displayed at the museum.

Quote:A director at the Smithsonian Institution has expressed interest in acquiring the hooded sweatshirt worn by Travyon Martin on the night he was fatally shot by neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman.
Lonnie Bunch, director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture told The Washington Post Martin's hoodie represents an to further the discussion about race in America.
“It became the symbolic way to talk the Trayvon Martin case. It’s rare that you get one artifact that really becomes the symbol,” Bunch told the newspaper. “Because it’s such a symbol, it would allow you to talk about race in the age of Obama.”

Maybe George Zimmerman can donate his Keltec PF9 to the Smithsonian's National Museum of White-Hispanic American History and Culture. I'm sure there is one of those, right?

Is that the one that's beside Michael Jackson's kiddie diddling glove? Speaking of that... A few weeks ago there were big headlines on Drudge about a report released that there were all kinds of victims that were never disclosed before and that the families were paid off to not report it. It was only up for about an hour and then it was scrubbed. I found that interesting.

I thought it had been pretty much known that Jackson had paid off a bunch of families to keep quiet about his behavior...... alot of that came out during the closing of the ranch or whatever, I thought? I dunno. I was never a fan.

Either a) the sources turned out to be bad, or b) the Jackson family paid off the Drudge

The report I saw said the numbers were much higher than previously known.

LOL. Must be that guy's private collection then. Some of the wording in the article sort of hinted at it, but I wasn't sure...and still, they made it a big headline.

I would be interested to see how much that hoodie would auction for. Actually, I'd probably feel nauseous.
