So I spent a morning at the local police station...

... filing a harassment complaint against someone. Walked in with my wife casually, dressed like I do every other day: jeans, t-shirt, boots. I open carried like I do every other day: M&P40, DeSantis Scabbard, spare mag.

No one screamed, no one drew down on me, no one tried to arrest me, nothing.

The gentleman at the front booth took our information, uniformed and plainclothed officers walked by and greeted us politely, and no one made mention of the fact that I had a pistol on my hip.

The only real reaction that I got was a long stare at my pistol by the officer taking my report. Honestly, it seemed more like he was curious as to what I was carrying than anything else. He never made mention of it, nor eluded to it.

Everyone was polite and helpful, like normal people talking about business.

So, I'll chalk that up as a pretty good interaction with the local PD.

Note, this was posted in the other forum, but thought it'd be good to post here as well.

He probably had an 870 duct taped to the bottom of the desk Wink

Nah, the officer taking my report came out to the lobby where my wife and I were waiting and took my info there. We stood face to face as we spoke, and he was pretty polite and professional.
