So It Starts… Injured Army Vet is First Victim of New York’s Abominable Gun Law
#1
Quote:An Army veteran was arrested in Watertown for possession of AR-15 magazines.

Nathan H. Haddad, 32, of 25240 Waddingham Road, town of LeRay, faces five felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was released without bail before town of Watertown Justice Andrew N. Capone, and is ordered to appear Wednesday in town of LeRay Court.

Deputies made the arrest shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday on Steinhilber Road in the town of LeRay, where Mr. Haddad is accused of possessing five 30-round AR-15 magazines of ammunition. He is cited under a state penal law statute that prohibits possession of “a large capacity ammunition feeding device.”

30 rounders were all ready illegal in NY. Prior to the new law, their mag capacity limit was either 10 or 15. I think it is 10.

Its my understanding that 30 Rounders were legal if they were pre 1994 ban

This is the vet NYS decided to make a criminal with their illegal law:

Also, keep your eyes peeled. Emily Miller of the Washington Post (reporter who wrote the "Emily gets her gun" series) is working on his story.

And he needs legal help:

Wile the law is shit, it is the law. If 30 round mags were illegal in NY, don't have them.

No different than carrying in a federal building, bullshit laws are still laws.
