I can almost 100% guarantee you that nobody is dusting that shell for prints. "CSI stuff" really only happens on TV.

At best it may be used as a visual comparison - "Hey, we found half a box of "X" brand shells in the back seat of this suspect's car - same as the one found at the scene."

I'm happy nobody was hurt.

Yeah our church was robbed...got a security system and a few weeks later, think the guy came back. Shocked at the new alarm, he dropped his bag of WaWa (no skittles, it was Snickers) and ran off. Cops claimed they would dust the bag for prints but I knew they wouldn't for anything short of murder.
Error 396: Signature cannot be found.

Coming home one morning last summer I saw a cop dusting the hood of a car for prints not too far from my house. Thought it was kind of strange to see him doing that.

Made me think of this.

The show CSI has caused a lot of guilty people to be found not guilty by juries because there was no blood, semen, or fingerprints left at the crime scenes. It's known as the CSI Effect. Most people who work in the CJ field really hate that damn show.

Also if I joined the Navy or Marines, I'd stay clear of the DC/Northern VA. If it's anything like the show NCIS portrays it to be, service members are being murdered more than gang bangers there. Rolleyes

The other lie they always peddle on CSI is the autopsy. A friend of mine was going though a divorce with a vile bitch who threatened him all the time. He wound up dead under suspicious circumstances his family suspected he had been poisoned. It took 9 months for his family to get an "inconclusive" report from the ME's office. Disgusting. How's about we take a break from writing bullshit right on red and speeding tickets and...you know...focus a little more on crime fighting and leave the fund raising up to the politicians...?

It seems random... there were no obvious targets, just some dickheads driving around shooting bird shot at houses. Typical Harrisburg past-time type'a shit.

I do know that at least one of the incidents is on video, hopefully the video is clear enough to get a vehicle description.

Yeah, a cop buddy of mine told me that due to the time and expense the CSI forensic stuff only gets pulled out when it's a homicide.

Cities, throw a fence around them... I quit going. I hope they catch them.
