Bulky means nothing unless you intend to conceal. Plus you have to remember the Spanish are no different than other Europeans. They were issuing .32acp and .380acp pistols to their militaries and police well into the 40s and beyond. Not to mention the heel mag release. They have their own way of doing things and if it works for them, more power to them.
