Store detectors

I think we talked about this before...but today I was concealed carrying in a cross body handbag made for CC, which I do while shopping because I never take it off. I totally set off the Hollister (shopping for teenager....sigh) alarms in and out of the store. I didn't set off anyone else's alarms in the mall (handbag has been broken in for a year now, no tags or anything). It went off when I went in, so I told the checkout lady that for some reason my purse sets off the alarm....told her maybe my cell phone even though I knew better....she said don't worry about it...but on my way out with my purchase, sure enough, it went off again, and two girls came running out with panicked expressions. I held up my purchase and explained it was my purse, and they said OK....but yikes! I have no doubt my gun set it off. Why???

Probably not the gun. Those are not metal detectors, they sense RF chips. In some select stores, like Kohls and Barnes & Noble for me, my wallet sets off the alarm. One of the clerks said that when I bought the wallet, they must have failed to deactivate the tag inside. No other stores have triggered the alarm.

Well, when in first got the bag (Coronado Leather at Cabelas online) it was setting off everything. I called them, and they told me that the tag was in an obscure place inside the bag, so he walked me through removing it. I did that, and have had no further problems until today.

Hm. I guess it could have been my friend... She had a Coach handbag. *shrug* oh...I was wearing newer shoes, too.

I guess carrying a gun still makes me worry sometimes about being "caught".... For no good reason of course.

Double check your bag something is still in there. I had a pair of jeans one time that did the same thing. After removing my Jeans at home I found a very small silver/foil tag. The tag was inside on the pocket. They can be tricky!

Check for a small lump behind your right ear.

Don't cut it out, or they will know that you've found it and have you deactivated. You're going to need to be debugged.
I know a guy. Bring cash. Lots of cash. And Kit Kat bars - he can't get them in his country.

Do you and Topsykretts have the same "circle of friends"?

Edit:
Sorry E.M. I posted that before I noticed that Topsy was banned or deleted or whatever.
There are three types of people in the world:
Those who make things happen,
Those who watch things happen,
And those who wonder what happened.

If you microwave your head for ten seconds it will be deactivated.

Toppsy taught us that. You must have been abducted for testing that day.
