Student With AR-15 Scares Off Armed Home Intruders
#1
Quote:Rochester, N.Y. — Early Tuesday morning, Christopher Boise heard a noise coming from the basement. As he walked toward the source of that noise, the RIT student noticed two men standing in the downstairs portion of his apartment.

“They were waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs,” said Boise.

One of them had a handgun trained on Boise.

Within moments, Boise screamed. His cries were heard by his roommate, Raymond.

“It wasn’t like a, ‘I stepped by stepped on a piece of glass’ kind of scream,” Raymond said. “So, I instinctively went to my gun bag.”

Raymond owns an AR-15 which is a military style rifle.

Raymond estimated that just five seconds passed until the door started to open. It was one of the intruders.

“By the time I had it out and ready, one of the men came at my door, slowly opened it, saw that there was a barrel on the other side and from there backed out,” Raymond said.

The reporter said "police believe the two intruders had BB guns". They didn't catch the guys, so why would they think that? I call BS.

I think the police are trying to downplay it, planting the idea that there's "no problem here. . . all they had were BB guns. . . no need for an AR-15 to defend yourself against a BB gun"

You can be damned sure that if an officer were to confront someone holding a BB gun, they'd probably have shot them.

Not too long ago, police out west shot and killed a guy that was holding a hose nozzle.

Yep, and if they had training in NYC, they would have shot several bystanders too!

Nope, no need for AR-15s, not even for defensive use. Ever. They only have this person the edge up over the burglars. But, hey, at least one child might be saved from the ban! Rolleyes

You know what, let's ban the internet, pens, pencils, and hybrid cars, too! Kids can get hurt with them. Especially the hybrid cars! I mean, what if a child opened the hood and accidentally electrocuted himself with all of the extra, supped up, unneeded electricity! Rolleyes

the cops assumed they had bb guns because where they broke the basement window to break in they found bb's

Quote:The rifle was not loaded at the time of the home invasion, according to Raymond.

That is from the web article. He's lucky the burglars fled the apartment. If they pressed forward with the robbery and a gun fight erupted Raymond would be in big trouble.
