We are in fact winning except in the media and in .GOV.

Sixty percent of high school and college students say they plan on owning guns at a later stage in life, an academic study from American University revealed on Monday.

According to a brand new study, sixty percent of young Americans plan on purchasing firearms in the future.

According to the study, about 40 percent of the American students surveyed said they definitely planned to own firearms once they had established their own households. Another 20 percent said they were “contemplating” owning guns......

I'm sorry, but I don't see how this poll can be remotely accurate. Young people who have been indoctrinated by the union Democrat controlled high schools and the radically liberal universities are frightened to even be in the same room as a gun or a knife from my own fist hand experience. They tend to be the most fanatical and uninformed antis around.

You would think that by the media narrative. However, every poll I ever see shows strong pro 2A numbers

Assuming this is true, will they even be able to own them?

Picture yourself as a Grandparent telling your Grandkids "I remember when we could have protected your right to also own a gun but not enough Americans cared about YOUR RIGHTS."

That's why I've protected my daughter's rights by gifting her both an AR and a handgun. She may only be 16 but she can still be gifted them, she just needs to be in the presence of an adult when she uses them. Big Grin

We rig internet polls from time to time too, every time someone does a national poll online that we can get a hold of we pass them through every forum and website to make the biggest impact we can. I'm not saying its a bad thing when considering what we're trying to do, but we have been known to rig a poll or two to support our assertions. When I went to university my concentration attracted more of the outdoors types (not to be confused with hippy environmentalists) so it wasn't uncommon in one of my geology classes for someone to whip out a pocket knife over the trash can and sharpen a pencil like we did in the field. If I so much as attempted that in any of my other classes like calculus, people would just gawk in shock that someone had a small knife with them that didn't intend to stab anyone. I got done with school when all of that was really starting to rear is ugly head. Before kids started getting expelled for pointing at their friends and saying "POW!" in grade school. I really can't imagine it being any better today.

Where did I say that we were the only ones doing this? Notice I said, "we rig internet polls from time to time too" "too" meaning as well or in addition to other groups. but as long as these polls aren't random or don't have gigantic sample sizes sometimes we need to take them with a grain of salt. I would believe that the actual number of this poll would be in the neighborhood of 40-45%, but every facet of our society beyond just the media screams to me to be wary of this 60% number.

My girlfriend would be in that 60%. She can't afford to buy one right now. And she can't have one at school anyways. I'm thinking it'd be a good graduation gift.

Honestly with the number of teenagers and young adults who play call of duty and battlefield et al, I'm surprised that number isn't higher--I would figure that they would want to get their hands on the real thing.
