Quote:Effective immediately, if you voted for Obama, your money is no good here. You have proven beyond a doubt that you are not responsible enough to own a firearm. We have just put a sign up on the front door to save you the trouble of walking all the way in here….
I took this ad out in our local paper. It will come out in the White Mountain Independent tomorrow, 9 November
Sincerely,
Cope Reynolds

I did not vote for Obama and I wouldn't be shopping there either. This divisiveness is hurting the country. People refusing to listen to the other side does not help us move forward.

You're right that divisiveness doesn't help things. I don't know about others here, but I have been taking the high road and done everything I can do to not be divisive. Look where it got us. It is "the other side" that is being divisive. Look at this site, for example. A person is welcome to state dissenting opinions. They will be debated, but not ostracized. You can't say that - in general - about the left.

I try to live by the philosophy that I will treat others how they treat me. I also try to deal with people in the nicest way they will listen. Frankly, sometimes you have to be rude to get through some people. This election is making me think that the left will only listen to actions like the store owner is taking on. No, it is not ideal. Yes, it may be considered childish. Yes, I am thinking that this might be the only way to get through to these people. I don't like it, but I am being to think that this is reality. I honestly hope someone can prove me wrong.

Yeah, well don't complain about a hostile environment for small business when you turn away 50% of the population. I know plenty of small businessmen who supported Obama.

And so if clowns like that merchant want to send business to them, and to Walmart and the other big-box stores, then that's on him. But he can't blame his failure on anyone but himself.

Do you get a discount if you voted for Romney?

Along with the sales floor they are a training facility. Ain't too many big box stores covering that base. I give the guy credit, things in NM started going all flaky so he closed the facility that he had there.

Or the other 50% will be so supportive of his decision that make a bee line to his store to make up for any lost revenue.

Just look at Delia's in Philly. When HGC started their protest against them, gun owners, some from hours away, made a point to stop in and buy something.

This is not as divisive as the folks on twitter saying that they would riot if Romney had won. If they don't want to sell to someone thats their choice, but they will also loose revenue not a good business decision.

Agree.

The latest Newsweek magazine cover with a picture of Obama in a colonial officer's uniform, with a headline that screams " GOP: You're Old, You're White, You're History" pretty much has that unity thing covered, doesn't it? Rolleyes

Screw all that. The other side has no pretense of desiring unity. I don't blame the store owner one bit. His store, his business, his risk if he offends his customers. Time will tell if he is making a mistake.

Let both sides take off the damn gloves and go at it. Dodgy
I don't suffer from insanity.
I enjoy every minute of it.
