Taurus View. WTF?
#1
Saw this last night. I love my Taurus revolvers (disclaimer). But what the hell are they thinking? I see so many things wrong with this, I don't know where to start. Let me start with the grip. Looks way too small to grasp, let alone get a good purchase on it while drawing from a holster. Then add some stress and sweaty palms. It kind of looks like a cartoon dog. You know, the one with a giant head and miniature body.

Now for that stupid plastic side-plate. Metal on plastic, or acrylic or whatever it is, will get scratched in no time. Just from the internals making contact with it. And does this revolver not come with lubrication?

All I see is fail! :rant on:

The good news is, when it fails, you'll easily be able to see where the failure lies.

I understand your point but if you dont like it no one is forcing you to buy it.

Right. I usually stay objective about new firearms to hit the market. Based on the design the only group I could see this marketed to would be children ages 5-10. Dodgy

Does not look comfy to shoot but that’s really not the point to these type of guns. The nice thing is that its small, light, 38 SPL and will go bang more reliably than the little .380 auto pocket guns.

I think I also heard that the plastic is really lexan (sp?) which if true is very strong. I think they make or use to make football helmets from it.

Not sure I would buy one though. How much are they?

This is one of the downsides of the ever expanding population of gun owners in our capitalist society. The target markets are going to change, people are going to start buying based on appearance just like every other product out there. We've already seen the YouTube videos of the "open carriers" who did so for the sake of fashion.

I'll stop just shy of crying conspiracy, but I wouldn't consider it beyond realism that someday carrying a gun will be more a fashion statement than anything to do with self defense. People may just start carrying inoperable firearms that look cool and match their outfits.

Look at mohawks and bright green/blue/pink hair. Parents are doing that to gradeschool kids now and at some point it became acceptable that pop stars call themselves punk rock.

You will be the invisible man! On Patriots post that grip is just sad. They must have fired all QC employees.
